I guess I was getting more nic than I thought. Maybe too much?

I started vaping a couple weeks ago and I had cut own to maybe 3-5 analogs a day thanks to it. However, I started getting some side effects possibly from the PG or who-knows-what. I had leg cramps (learned later I probably just needed to drink more water) and my anxiety was much higher (I'm on medication for it, but for a couple days actually had to take extra which is VERY unusual for me).

I decided I either was getting too much or maybe needed to switch to VG or just try not vaping.

So, yesterday I just went back to analogs to clear my head.

Today, the cramps and anxiety are gone, but I'm craving nicotine more than usual. I've smoked almost a whole pack today.

I brought all my stuff to give to a friend to try at work today and now I'm wondering if I should just ask for it back and get some lower dose VG.

I've done some research on gum or lozenges or inhalers and I don't like what I see. And, I refuse to take an antidepresant relabeled as a smoking cessation aide.

So what do you guys think? Was I just getting too much? I was using 18mg and before all this I was smoking about 3/4 pack a day of marlboro lights.

I don't want to vape long term, and if I could slowly drop in strength that would be good. But my anxiety last week was so bad and nothing bad was going on that I was blaming it on the e-cigs. Now I'm just confused.

I'd say that is a lot of nicotine for 3/4 pack of lights. Every person is different in how they inhale and how much they absorb.

Don't give up until you at least try the alternatives. Sometimes certain flavorings can give you anxiety. What were you vaping?

I smoked 1.5 PAD of regular kings and I could only do 12 mg. I vape a lot so 18mg quickly turns into a slight overdose.

Try a 50/50 or all VG mix in different flavors or unflavored and try 12mg or even 6mg if you vape too much. It may take a week or two to differentiate between cigarette withdrawal and vaping symptoms. I remember my thighs burning for almost a month but it went away. I drink gobs of water now.

I agree with the previous poster who said to get your stuff back...

Get a bunch of small 5ml sample bottles in various stengths and PG/VG ratios, in a couple different flavors that you like.
It may cost a bit, but it is the only way you will be able to find out what is causing you problems.

And if you can solve that puzzle, it will be worth whatever you pay for those samples.

I would suggest going to a health food store and pick up some vegetable glycerin (make sure it is USP grade). Once you have that you can dilute the 18mg juice with it. You might try half and half which will bring you to 9mg.

Not saying it's not the PG, VG or flavoring that are giving you problems but the nicotine level is the most likely culprit. Since you'd be diluting the juice, you'll lose some flavor. But at least you can test without spending too much money.

I got leg cramps the first week or so - gone after that. Drinking fluids actually does help - a banana for the potassium too.

I went with some good advice from Rob - l.xpress - vape low, top off high - where I vaped at 12mg and only when the urge was strong, I'd top off the cart with some 24mg and 18mg later on. I get the hiccups if I get too much nic - so I know easily what the problem is. I'm also 90% VG and have been for over a year now. The other ejuices I have - BWB - have some VG in them too.

I'm no doctor, but the anxiety is probably the nic. I started at 24mg and it was great for a week or two (complete stop of analogs), then my anxiety skyrocketed and I was bouncing off the walls. Dropped nic level and I'm great. Leg cramps could be a million things, but it probably was the nic OD, maybe PG allergy, or most likely standard dehydration. So drink extra water or Gatorade/Coconut Juice, drop the nic, and test your PG reactions. Just my guesses.
