how to store 18650 long term and how long is that possible

Hello every one I haven't seen any threads on this subject yet if so please just post me here them if possible thanks. How long can you store new 18650's in new condition. And how to you go about that I know with lipos you have to have a special charger and use it to condition them, or drain them to a certain level then store them. I have been stocking up supplys for a while and know nothing about doing it with 18650's or if it is even worth it. will they just die any ways. Thanks to all of you with any insight on this subject.

I've always treated like lipos 3.8v storage. I dont stick them in the fridge just a cool dark place. That's just me.

I agree with the above suggestions, however I should also point out that no battery can be stored indefinitely. They will all eventually go bad regardless of how they are stored and regardless of if they have been used or not. The above suggestions can delay the degradation but nothing will stop the inevitable.

I also do not see any need to stock up on batteries. They are used in too many other things (including flashlights) and so will always be available.

I'd say anything under 3.92V is adequate. If I were to aim for maximum storage lifespan, it may be reasonably possible to put the batteries in a freezer, packed inside ziplock bags to avoid humidity problems, while limiting their charge voltage to 3.7 - 3.8V. Or just in the refrigerator if you are not willing to take freezer risks (li-ion cells do not contain water). They should last a lot of years.
By the way, this remembers me I have an old C size zinc-carbon cell in a ziplock bag inside the refrigerator. Cell made in the early 80s, from local manufacturer Tudor, with its anode sealing band intact. Still measures close to 1.6V.

I store mine at around 3.7-3.8v and check them every few months. They tend to loose ~10% of their charge a month and need topped back up to my initial storage charge every few months.

IMO, Not much difference.
New batteries are "ready" for long term storage. Do not charge or discharge them.
Keep them in a cool, dry place and they should be fine when needed.
