Have you been screwing things down to tight? This can happen with most mods and is not repairable on most.

Reading SHORT is a sign of Insulator damage.

Reading No atomizer is due to short pin on the Atomizer and Not crushed eVic grommet.
Known product issues include many Kanger tanks including T3 series and some Protanks
Any RBA tank with the center pin tightened to much
Some cheaper cartomizers

Simple fix is to pull the atomizer pin very slightly to achieve contact.
7 months with 2 eVic, changing tops several times a day and no damage has occurred.
Using tanks on another device can push the pin up and may require adjusting.

eVic is not designed to be user serviceable.

I am working on embeded software development for last 8 years so dont "user" me :D

Can someone please explain me how to open this thing or i will figure it out and post it with instructions on youtube. If you are having problems about people playing with it, you can PM me the instructions.

You dont have to open it at all. What you need to do is get yourself a #60 o-ring from home depot or lowes or whatever big hardware store you have around.

First you need to use a pin or eyeglass screwdriver to pry out the old o-ring located under the center pin of the 510 connector. To make it easier you can lift the center pin up with the screw driver by prying it up very gently (only pry it up as much as you need so you dont break the wire underneath)

Once you get the old o-ring out, take a new #60 o-ring, and make one cut in it. Then start from one side and work your way around stuffing it underneath the 510 center pin.

Here is a photo of mine with a #60 o-ring in place

Here is a video of someone performing the same fix on a VAMO

Ok, beyond and doubt, i have tested it with ohmmeter, there is a problem of f* up insulation under the center pin. What pulling out does is only make some air space and thats why there is no shortcut any more. Can someone PLEASE tell me how to open this thing, it is trivial to fix but i need to remove center pin, put some insulation under it and solder it back...

You cant insert a rubber oring as an insulator from the bottom even if you do take it apart. So honestly the steps ive listed as the only viable fix.

The top does come off, you just have to gently work it out with some pliers and rubber so as not to damage, and be careful cuz when it pops off, good chance youre going to break the leaks and have to re solder them.

So basically;

Yes you can take it apart, and no it is not hard, but you are likely to break the leads and have to resolder

No you cannot re insulate the center pin from inside, you have to tear or rip the old insulating ring out, and replace it with another insulatoer, as i suggested, a #60 o-ring works great

Yeah well mine was pissing me off for weeks because nothing but a Protank would fire on it. They are like 1 dollar at the hardware store just go get some, if you do the fix i suggest you will be VERY pleased. This thing is rock solid now, you literally cant screw something on too tight and damage that center pin, its just got way too much bounce to it.

I realize now youre posting from EU, idk what you even have for hardware stores or if those are definitely #60 washers over there.

This is exactly what it is, but the 10 pack was only 2 dollars at the store near me so this is overpriced

Ok, Joyetech has just went over the edge with me, eGo was a complete crap leaking all around and the eVic is the last product i bought from them, they are having serious problems with quality control and I will gladly tell anyone asking me for opinion to buy something else instead of their products.

The white part which you can see on the picture is the original insulation and also prevents eliquid getting into the device. But the top part is missing, i wrongly asumed that the problem is in squished o-ring, it wasnt o-ring it was the top part of this white insulator while lower part fell into the device.

The black insulation which you can see is my fix, i have used the insulation which is normally used with soldiering, a "plastic" tube which gets thicker once you heat it. You can also see for how much you can pull out the center pin which might be usefull for someone.

I've broken the handle off a screwdriver while using it as a chisel. Not the manufacturers fault.

If you would broke it on screw and the reason would be that handle is made out of marshmallow this not only manufacturers fault but also a design problem. If furthermore this is done to lower the expenses in production then it is negligence and quality problem.

Do you wanna bet that it wont happen again with what i have done? :D

Simply look at the number of people using (X) without issues, compared to your issues and you may see a pattern developing.

"In addition, the connection of the EVic control head is surrounded by a layer of elastic and insulating ring, which helps to prevent a short circuit in the anode and the cathode, and also improve the flexibility of the atomizers with different length of connection. But if the atomizer has too long connection, this insulating ring will be crushed, and then the output end of eVic may have a short-circuit or can't detect atomizers anymore."

FYI, it happens so often that they actually put it in their FAQ, but not into user manual. You are coming from that part of the world where userguides are saying you shouldnt dry your cat in microwave owen, right? If nothing else it should seem a bit suspicious to you...
