it is a Kanger pro tank
OK, I use those. Basically, any time I open up the tank to refill or change the flavor, I remove the coil head that's in there, put it in a dish of cheap vodka to soak for several hours, and put a clean coil head in the tank. I've been rotating around 10 coil heads through 6 tanks for about two months this way.

When a coil finally dies, I'll put it in a bin for rebuilding later (there are many ECF posts and YouTube videos from which to learn rebuilding Kanger coil heads).

Either I am very tired or this was one of the best responses to an op's question that I have read in a while. Thank you for this.

ohm thingies need maintenance depending on your vaping habits, amount you vape, voltage/wattage vaped at, type of juice, etc. When vape production and taste deteriates, it's time to play with yur thingy. Some thingies can be cleaned, re-wicked, dry burned, to extend your thingy life. After time, all thingies must be replaced or rebuilt. There are many thingy life cycles. This is one of the things you'll intuitively come to understand as you become more familiar with your thingies, and what pleases your particular thingy.

Welcome to ECF, E32lover. You have yourself a nice setup there. You have also received some excellent advice. Change the heads out (ohms thingy) when taste is muted or burnt. Do put them in a jar if cleaning does not bring them back to good performance. You may think you will never rebuild them now, but down the road you may decide you want to. Many people do this as a hobby and rebuilding those Protank heads will be good practice if you decide you want to upgrade later on to an RBA. Sounds like you are on the right track.

Thanks heaps for the advice, so much appreciated. Just bought a pack of 15 to try out various resistance and to always have spares.

A bit confused about dry burning, does that just mean you install them and burn them for a bit with no fluid? How long for?

So the basic cleaning routine would be soak head in vodka for a few hours, wait for it to dry, install it, and dry burn for how long? then fill with fluid and enjoy?

Ive been really enjoying this 2.2 ohm head. Much better than the 1.8. Got a 2.5 on its way to try as well, along with heaps of different e juices. These things are the best hobby, cant believe how much fun they are

welcome, if you have not done so, I would go to youtube and watch some videos. you can search for protank, or any other tank thingy you want. There are lots of videos that will help you understand your thingy or other thingys that may be interesting to you.

I actually went to tasteyourjuice.com and watched lots of Phils video's he goes into alot of technical stuff but it will help you learn the language that we speak and help you learn more about the items you use or hear about others using.

I never dry burn my Kanger coils. That said, if you want to, here's a video:

There are many more videos on this subject as well.

I do all of this except dry burning. :)
