I need a little help. I keep getting asked what I spent on my vaporizer. Seeing as how it was about 280$ altogether, and I am somewhat ashamed of this pricey investment. When people compare my clouds to those produced by the average corner store e-cigarette, the inevitable question always comes up. "How much did you spend on that?" I'm tired of having to answer this question, and I need advice on how to avoid it.

Thanks in advance.
My response is always "if you have to ask, you can't afford it." Shuts em up instantly. Then I blow a Mongo cloud in their face[emoji16]

how rude...didn't their mama teach them it's impolite to ask how much something cost that another has? geesh.

This^^

I usually deflect the question of how much the setup I'm carrying cost me with a smile and a simple "a lot" for an answer. That generally stops that line of questioning.

"Less than I used to spend on cigarettes" is the right answer, especially if your "friends" are likely to snatch it if it's expensive. Nosy people can find out anything they want to know with a simple Google search, anyway. I'd buy something cheap to vape in public. Buy an iStick or a Vision Spinner for outside carry and keep the expensive hardware at home. The vapor is virtually the same.

My Provari generally stays at home. The iStick goes in my pocket when I leave the house. It charges with USB and I don't have to carry a spare battery.

My response: "same as couple cartons of butts"

Trouble is if the person asking is inquiring because they are thinking of getting a similar set-up, then "none ya business" doesn't feel right either. I know it can be rude of folks to ask, but they may not realize the amount we spend on this stuff and genuinely want to know what it would cost them. It's not like they're asking about your car or house. I'm conflicted on this one, but my usual answer is above.

Just tell them you've won many awards and medals at the local cloud chasing events. When they ask what a cloud chasing comp is, you tell them it's like a rap battle. You go head to head with other slobs, trying to blow the biggest cloud of vapor.

Such LOL.

Another approach: "It was a gift." Then, you can talk about what a gift not-smoking is and tell them to check out Ebay and/or their local vape shop.

I rode about 115 Miles last week on my Bike. Before I switched to e-Cigarettes, if I ran up Two Flights of stairs, I would be Out of Breath.

For the Year of 2014, I spent about 450 Bucks on e-Liquid and a few Mods I really Didn't Need. Compared to about $2500 on Cigarettes in 2009 Dollars.

To Be Honest, I don't really Care if I had spend $2500 on e-Cigarettes last year. Because being able to ride 115 miles in a week, and to be able to pass some guys who are 1/2 my age is Priceless.
