easily anywhere from 6ml at the least to 15ml a day really depends on the flavor and my mood i subohm though at 2mg strength. i used to do 3mg but im trying to cut it down i enjoy the nic just not the throat hit can't even vape a 50/50 blend because to me the throat hit is too strong. i chain vape in small sessions because i have to go without vaping for hours on end due to school and work but other then that if at home it's usually at the 6ml end

I have a different opinion then some. Vaping has by far made me way more dependant on nicotine then smoking ever had me. But and this is a huge but, I don't think nicotine is really that bad in the qualities we take in. I feel more alert, I feel sharper, and I feel like I have less anxiety or stress when I have a proper ammount of nicotine in my system. At this point in my life I just treat nicotine as I would treat any other drug, a life stimulate to help me get through a given day or situation. Is it an addiction? Yes. Do I think vaping is safe? Safer then cigarettes yes but no, nothing you consume that isn't necessary is not safe. Do I care at all? Not really, not as long as I get my fix lol.

You avoided my questions posed in post #9. What is so magical about 25mg per day? What exactly is so terrible about exceeding it? Is your number framed by intense negative nic propaganda or the facts and science?

Sorry to be asking the hard questions...
My hunch is nic is reletively harmless to a person of average health. I'm not negative about nic. The relationship between smoking nic and vaping nic is worth understanding for a few reasons. I decided to do DIY to save money and to insure against government interference so that raised the question, how long will my supply last. If I have to vape 72 mg per day a 1 liter bottle is good for 3-4 years. If 25 mg is enough it goes up to 13 years. As I'm thinking about that I wonder, do I really need to consume 72 mg per day? So the last few days I changed my habits in ways that mean I vape less. Was I jonsing because of that, for the most part no. I'd like to be vaping fewer ml's and less nic because, why not? So I started this thread to try and get a handle on what other people are doing with nic mg's per day. If enough people post there might be a pattern. May be the only difference between the high nic vapers and low nic vapers is something arbitrary and easily manipulated.

Sounds like you just need a couple more liters of nic :)

I vape 6mg, 9mg, and 12mg all day, and consume around 6 to 9ml, with a subohm setup.

Not recently, but a month or so ago, I would have been vaping more b/c I ordered at least 50 to 60, 30ml E-liquids, rated btw 6mg and 12mg, was vaping 4 tanks non stop, and writing up what I thought abt them for around two weeks. It never bothered me at all.

If I had to guess at the avg mg nic per day, I'd say 40mg to 60mg.

I started vaping to get control of my smoking. It worked. For the first 6 weeks it gave me 80% control. After 6 weeks and a bit of effort I got it to 100%. Now a year later I'm thinking it's time to have some control of my vaping. The stakes are not so high this time but I'd rather be in control of it than the reverse.

Part of it is figuring out the best relationship to have with vaping and how to get there.

If I were trying to get control of my vaping I would concentrate on ml vaped not mg. for a lot of reasons.

So I've been doing 72mg per say. A cig has 1mg. When I was smoking 25 a day that was 25mg of nic. I'm wondering if I can get my vape down to that. If I could do that a 1 liter bottle of 100mg nic would be a 13 year supply.
Cigarettes contain between 8-20 mg of nicotine, most average around 12 mg. When smoking a cigarette with 12 mg of nicotine your body absorbs around 0.95-1 mg of nic. The more you smoke, the more nicotine your body receives.
Scientists have proven that smoke from a cigarette is thinner than the vape from a vapor pen/mod. Your body will absorb less nicotine from vape, scientist have not been able to prove how much your body actually absorbs from vaping..yet, or at least that I know of.

I stand corrected. I read up on it some more and found this. The 1mg of nic in a cig comes from government testing of the "yeild", meaning what is in the smoke. It seems likely that a lot of the nic would be incinerated and some would survive by being boiled away before it got hot enough to burn. The yeld from vaping should be near 100% because nothing is burned, everything is boiled. The amount of nic absorbed by the lungs in smoke vs vapor is another question.

I was smoking 25 cigs a day with a yeild of 25 mg of nic. My vape is 6 ml per day of 12mg nic. 6 ml x 12mg = 72mg per day, 3 times as much. The yeild would be nearly 100% of the nic because there is no burning. I'm sure there is way more nic in my body from vaping 72 mg of nic than when I was smoking 25 cigarettes a day but may be not 3 times more. I'd like to reduce the nic I absorb to the same as when I was smoking. Why not? That would extend the life of my stash if nothing else. May be reducing from 72 to 50 mg would get me there. May be a further reduction would be still be equivilent.

So I wonder if there are former pack a day smokers out there who are getting along vaping 25mg of nic per day instead of my 70+ mg.

About 4.5ml's per day, and currently (this week) I'm at 5.3mg, which gives 23.85mg per day. Next week I'll be at 5mg, where I'll be staying, which will put me at 22.5mg per day. Reducing nicotine is like falling off a log, if you do it slowly enough -- like .5mg reduction each week. FARRRRRRRRR easier than reducing WTA level.

The last time I tried I ended up taking more puffs so things worked out the same. I want to reduce ml's of liquid too. As mentioned in a previous post. I got control of my smoking. I want to do the same with vaping.

A group we never hear about is smokers who switched to vaping then stopped vaping and didn't relapse to cigarettes. I wonder how many of those there are.

It seems to me that most who reduce nicotine do it with too big a jump; like 12mg to 6mg, or 6mg to 3mg -- if you reduce it 50%, you're gonna notice! If you drop 1mg or .5mg on a weekly basis, you really don't notice at all. I know you DIY, so it's not necessary to drop so much at one time. I mix up 30 or 40 ml for a week's use; when I mix the next week's 30-40ml, I use a bit less of nic and WTA -- just a TINY bit less!

The only difference I've noticed, is that the TH gets lighter, which would be a huge deal breaker for me -- if not for Flash. I've gone up on the percentage of Flash I add, as my nic has gone down.

Somewhere out there
If I were trying to get control of my vaping I would concentrate on ml vaped not mg. for a lot of reasons.

First half of this year I was vaping about 5ml of 6mg. I decided I wanted to vape less. and switched to 24mg (and unflavored) a few months ago. I think I'm using about 1ml a day. It's harder to measure since I only drip now. I feel happier vaping less often, though it's very hard to explain why that is. Less foreign stuff in my lungs is good, but that's not core reason.

There is the 25mg per day I was looking for. Getting by on 1 ml a day is also nice. How many cigs a day were you smoking when you quit? As far as feeling better, vaping is more stress than breathing air. Less vaping is better than more. To figure out your daily ml with dripping count the drops from your usual bottle into a syringe to 2 ml and divide by 2. Then as the day wears on record the number of drops. The sized of drops can vary. A typical number of drops might be 40-45. I use a 3 ml syringe to do that. Almost any pharmacy should be able to give you one without the needle. Explain you are measuring an ingrediant.
During my initial days, I vape 18mg around 6ml per day. I quit smoking for the last 2 years and now vaping between 3-6mg and around 6-7 ml and on weekend usually play with subohm will consume around 10-12ml of juices Sent from Gotham City using Tapatalk
Your amount is close enough to 25mg to count. May be the absorbtion of nic in vaping is about the same as from smoking. The unburned nic in cigarette smoke is about 1 mg per cigarette, some percent of that is absorbed by the body. I wonder if the absorbtion rate of nic from vaper is similar. I suspect it is.

Nic mg x daily ml of liquid. I'm asking to get some perspective on what I'm doing now and to set a goal for what I want to be doing going forward. I've been vaping 6 ml of 12 mg nic per day which is 72 mg of nic per day. What are others doing?
5-7 ml of 15mg, so 75-105 mg/day.

Threads with this question have been done before and there results were a bell curve that looked centered around 50-ish mg/day.

So I've been doing 72mg per say. A cig has 1mg. When I was smoking 25 a day that was 25mg of nic. I'm wondering if I can get my vape down to that.
Absorption from vapor is less efficient than from smoke. I have a fuzzy recollection that at least one study was done that found that people self-titrate to lower nic levels in the blood when they vape rather than smoke.

If I could do that a 1 liter bottle of 100mg nic would be a 13 year supply.
Or you could just get a bigger freezer. :D
