I fill my cartridge up and i only get a few hit so i add more juice take a few hits and it seems like i need to add more why i that

Seems like your atty isn't getting enough juice. Check the cartridge mods forum for some ideas.
Personally, with all those mods, what really works best for me is simply pulling out the filler, and snipping off about a 1/4 inch of it. Fill tank, stuff in that 1/4 inch filler, add a couple drops and I'm good for awhile. All the other elaborate stuff seems overkill.

carts only work for light smokers, if you are a heavy smoker the capillary effect in the filler is too slow to maintain the flow of ejuice.
if so, you need to learn to drip into the atomizer or get some Borge Cartomizers that can keep up with your ejuice demands

Depends heavily on what type of filler. Moded carts can be used for heavy vaping.
I'm so done with filling carts. I'm a dripper now.
Filling carts is such a PITA. Then you got the fluval you gotta clean, the melting of the fluval if you take long drags.....done, outta here, gone. I built a 3.7V box mod. All I gotta do now is make it a juicebox and I'm set.
Oh to answer your question, how many hits......um about 7 - 10 good hits. Anymore for me and you gotta let it rest so the juice wets the atty. At that points it's 2 - 3 good hits, then rest.
Compare that to dripping. 3 drips in the atty. You get 4 - 5 good hits. Drip some more. The upside is the flavor is better and you don't have to bring prefilled carts with you.
