    Somewhere between here and there
I have read and read on this forum and thought I was ready for the day that I got my kit. Well, today I got my first kit with manual batteries and realized that I didn't know if I should hold the button down for a second before taking a hit ? and should I hold the button the whole time that I pull on it? please help.

I do the same thing press the button down then inhale. Though there are times when it's in my mouth and I start to pull before pressing the button. I tend to take long vapes, 2-3 seconds. I've been off analogs for 3 weeks now. Not bad considering I only started vaping about 5 weeks ago, and I was smoking half a pack of Marlboro light 100's for 18 years.

I push the button on the way to my mouth, 1 sec, hold while I draw for 3 to 4 sec, release draw another 1 sec, about 5 seconds with the button pushed. Works for me. Was 2+ packs a day smoker for over 30+ years.

The 510 got me off analogs... something about the relative heat in the hit probably was key. The Janty stick is keeping me off em. It's been two months since I touched an analog, and I was coming up on my 40th year of smoking analogs.

Free at last... free at last... woo hoo - ain't felt this good in years... and I've rediscovered what my nose was for.... (oh man what a straight line for Elandil) ;-)

I push it down just before I take a drag, and hold it for the duration of the drag, and then let go as I stop pulling.

    Has worked well for me.

Same here. I push down before I get it to my mouth - like when I know I'm going to take a drag, and let go as stated. Sometimes leave it in the mouth and again, push before I'm going to drag.

The flat tip (whistle tip) is good for holding in the mouth. If you do that. .... dietsmokes/eastmall two different types. I like the first.

I've almost quit analog altogether, but for some reason, I'm missing something in the e-cig that I get in the analog? Maybe it's in my head? I started with the 801, I was not happy with that at all. I got a 510 yesterday and love it! Of course there are a couple of things that bug me. It's a bit annoying to have to hit the button. I just wanna hold it and smoke it like an analog. I do understand why the button is there, but..... The taste is another... they say it taste like an analog. I don't think it taste anything like it at all. It's a bit nasty and like a cigar, which I HATE! I love the Vapor, want even more... I want so much I can't see.... So... Tons of Vapor, a decent taste and no button with a battery that last at least 2 hours would be GREAT. Any ideas?

Same here. And I went from a pack a day (for 22 years) to no analogs from the day I got my 510. Only had a few times where I really wanted that regular smoke, but I worked thru them pretty easily with the 510. Some willpower is needed, but it's nothing compared to how much you need with the gum or patch.

I was near 3 packs/day and I wasn't trying to quit but the 510 had other ideas ;-) Had a supermini just before getting my 510 and was still smoking analogs but not as many. That ended the day I got the 510. It was easier to get going and grab the big vapor. I now have a Janty Stick but still hit the 510 quite a bit. I still like that form, I guess but the JS is a dream to vape.

    Hey all!

I preheat my atty for about a half second. I hit the switch on the way up to my mouth and take about a 3-4 sec drag.

I smoked Drum, a quite strong halfzware, for years. 25-40 a day. I started vaping with 18mg juice and was not getting enough nic. I just got my hands on some 36 mg. and in spite of my high tolerance from the Drum the 36mg knocked me on my ..... Ugh! I've got some mixing to do - I think 24-26 mg is where I need to be.

I'm vaping to get off analoges and I'm down to 3-4 a day now. I'm confident that once I get my nic intake right I'll get the satisfaction I need to drop analogs completely. My plan is to settle in for a week and then cut my nicotine by 1 or 2 mg each week until I'm down to zero.

I want to detox from the nic first and then later, when I'm off the nic totally, it'll be relatively easy top break the hand to mouth ritual and oral gratification.

    Wow- I digress...

Someone mentioned that they wished they could get 2 hours out of a 510 bagttery. I have been getting 2-3 hours out of my manual 510 batteries and I vape pretty darn heavilly.

Does not exist, and if it did everyone would buy it.
You can't get tons of vapor without a manual battery.

But if you get over pushing a button, you might want a mod.
Unless you have to have something that looks at least a little like a cigarette.

Otherwise, you're right back to your 510 model.
And if so, get a PCC or a passthrough, or both, for the battery life issues.

And use a richer juice, like tobacco, coffee, chocolate, butterscotch, caramel, etc...
Their flavor seems to hold up better to the higher heat of a manual battery.
