I've had microcoil last up to two months (cotton wicks, swapped out with each tank fill, dry burning of coil at the same time). These are running anywhere from .7 - 1.5 ohms.

I've also had other coils pop after two days. Some of that would be chalked up to user error, lower resistances would also account for some of it.

In my case, I rebuild when the coil just isn't performing well - anemic vapor, even with fresh wicks and battery.

I've been using the same coil in my RM2 bottom-fed rebuildable for at least a month. Generally, I clean it every time I re-fill the juice bottle by dry burning and, if necessary, gently scraping off any ash or remaining burnt on crud with a mini flat head screw driver, then rinsing with warm water. I also check the resistance periodically. As long as it's still firing consistently and it doesn't break, it's a good coil.

Mine last less than a week... because I want to rebuild it :) I'm sure that will fade over time though and they will last longer:
I do 28ga kanthal micro coil at 1.3 to 1.6 ohms. I run it at around 8w.
After every tank or two or three, I pull the cotton, dry burn, let it cool, use a "dust off" can of compressed air to blow off any lingering crusties, rince with hot water, dry burn again, rewick.
I'm recoiling Fogger v3 (with vertical/chimney coil set up) and KFL+ clone with single horizontal coil.
the coils have looked just about brand new when I pull them for the rebuild, but again, I'm rebuilding every few days.

Coils can easily last a month or longer, If you are using cotton wicks, you just need to rewick it every couple of days, but the coil itself will last a very long time.

Of course, we all want to experiment with different builds, so my coils only lasted anywhere from a few hours to a week. But that was before I bought my second dripper. Now, I experiment with builds on my Igo-W, and when I find one that I really like, I build another of the same for my Nimbus clone. That coil stays on the Nimbus until I discover a better build while experimenting with the Igo-W.

I highly recommend having at least two drippers so you can dedicate one as an experimental testbed and backup.
