I recently decided that it would be most financially beneficial to start mixing my own flavors. You can imagine I've already made a fair share of mistakes. One of the biggest mistakes I've made is underestimating the concentration of LorAnn oils. In an attempt to create a peppermint raspberry flavor I ended up with a concoction that will open your sinuses and numb your throat....great for cold maybe, but terrible as a vaping flavor. Peppermint is extremely strong!
Anyway...I ordered some RY4 because I much liked a pre-mix RY4 that I tried and figured I would make my own (how hard could it be?). I've tried mixing it at 5%-10% and 15% and with each one I end up with a flavorless, colorless vape that's really not fit for vaping at all.
The latest batch I mixed up (and the last of the RY4 flavor I had) is 20% flavor mixed in a 80/20 PG/VG mix. I'm going to let it sit for a week or so since I heard that tobacco flavors are better with age. However, I'm doubting that it will be exactly what I was expecting even after aging a while.
I would love to get some ideas for good RY4 recipes from others who have had success with this flavor. I recently ordered some Vanilla (Bourbon) and Original Caramel flavors from FA and another order of RY4 to give it another go. Anyone have a good idea on what to mix in the RY4 and at what levels to get a really good vape?
I got a sample of MFS' '4-Star General' with my last order and IMO, that's the perfect flavor I'm looking for. So if anyone has tried that and knows how to get a similar flavor out of RY4 it would be great to know.
BTW...I don't much care for the really sweet/sugary flavor. Rich and spicy is more my preference. The really sweet and syrupy flavors I've tried are just sickening to me. Might be OK for a toke here and there but I'm looking for an all day vape for myself. The only flavors I've found that I can stomach for very long times so far are tobacco flavors since they seem to be less sugary, sweet.
