How do I carry my vape properly?

Hi all! I have two setups (am a <1 week n00b), one has an Aspire ET-S BDC adn one has an Aspire nautilus Mini. The guy at the store told me that for both of these, I should carry them in my pocket with the tank down/battery up to avoid flooding. I am having some trouble anyway in the flooding department, even though I do this consistently. Last night I left the ET-S setup vertical in a stand while charging, tank down, and when I unplugged it and hit it, it gurgled and I got a bit of liquid through the mouth piece.

Also is it ok to lay these flat on my desk while I'm working? I'm just trying to consistently get a nice clean hit and I'm not having much luck with that so far. Any advice for how to carry/lay it down (or not) would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I hate flooding...

That being said, I don't know much about either of those tanks. Have you tried keeping it with the tank up?

I used to use ProTank 2s (3 of them - bought 2, somebody gave me one) and they always flooded, no matter what I did after a few months (all of them). I'd also bought a ProTank 2 Mini at the same time that I got the first regular ProTank 2. I switched to the Mini, and it never flooded (and it was all that I used for almost a year).

Tanks can be weird animals.

Sorry if that's not much help :(

You should carry it in your hand and be vaping it always!

If your tanks have adjustable airflow, turn it completely off while it's in your pocket. I do it on my drippers, my silo and my aerotank, as well as any other tank that can be closed off. Winter and summer months cause temperature fluctuations of the juice in the tank, which makes it expand and contract, thus leading to flooding. Keeping the airflow closed off mitigates this alot and usually doesn't give me any trouble

New to me, as well...

Yes, wide temp or pressure changes can cause clearos to leak. They use a slight vacuum inside to prevent that, and temp / pressure changes will affect that. If you're expecting that kind of environmental change, upside down can help. And you can take the topper off the battery and blow gently though it into a vaper towel if there is a little gurgle. (Or gently probe from the tip end with a pipe cleaner.)

When properly assembled and not defective, either should be fine upright, sideways or upside down.

Bear in mind that many toppers can have the coil / head come a little loose from normal opening to fill. Make sure it's snug. Make sure all o-rings and seals are intact and clean. Don't overtighten to the battery, that can (among other things!) compress the bottom grommet on the head and cause leaks.

Most of our hardware has it's own little idiosyncracies. Once figured out, most work well :)

Also note that I have had to carry a device upside down before. I used to have a Squape Reloaded (rebuildable tank setup) with my P3, and had a leaky build on it once. It wasn't quite enough to turn off the airflow, so I carried it in my pocket upside down. Honestly, you shouldn't have to deal with that sort of hassle, and having the AFC turned off should be enough for most tanks. If it's not enough, I'd find a new tank
