Hot legs on Veritas ?

I tried horizontal and vertical coils but for some reason I always get hot legs.
I'm building single coil, 6 wraps of 26g on ~3mm screwdriver.

Rip Trippers suggest to put another cotton piece on top of the coil, but when I tried that, this piece gets dry much before the main cotton piece (the one on the bottom), so I don't really like that wicking setup...

Any suggestions?

Sounds like a poor mechanical connection on the posts or screws. Try cleaning them with an abrasive and alcohol.
