What RTAs are you guys using for high watt/sub-ohm vaping? What RTAs can keep up with wicking at 50+ watts on regulated devices and provide rda-like air flow?

I am hoping that 2015 will bring us drippers closer to the holy grail of RTAs that performs on par with RDAs. We seem to be well on our way looking at the latest RTAs such as Goblin and Silverplay.

The Atlantis is more of a clearomizer than an RTA. Not saying it's not good, just that I don't think many would consider it an RTA.

I've been having good luck lately with my Aqua V2 - but nowhere near 50 watts. On a dual coil I usually run it around 20 - after that, it can't keep up however I build it. As you point out, it's mainly an airflow issue.

The RTA section of the subtank is surprisingly good too - I didn't think those liquid channels were deep enough, but it works excellently at 15-25 watts. I can run it at 30 because of the improved airflow on it, but I actually prefer it a little cooler.

I haven't found an RTA that can consistently be pushed to higher wattages and honestly, I don't think I am looking for one particularly. I think I sometimes like the tighter draw, the mouth to lungs and the improvement in flavor (and battery life) of running them at lower wattages.

But I do agree, I think we will see some serious innovation in RTA's with much better airflow and e-liquid feeding allowing wattages to be pushed far past where they are now.

Just as an aside, I didn't ever foresee me buying and using (and enjoying) a clearomizer again, I am enjoying the innovation in the vaping industry and I look forward to seeing further improvements to the equipment we use in 2015.

I really like my Big Buddha by Ehpro. The billow is a smaller version I think. It has very good airflow, just a little less than the Atlantis. A 10 ml tank. And can run with the higher wattage. I've been vaping it at 0.3 ohms with 24 ga dual coils between 35 and 50 watts regularly. I've run it at 75 without getting a dry hit. I don't really bother going higher. I find the sweet spot to be about 45 watts, and I'll chain vape all day with no problem. Dual adjustable air screws and came with a metal and glass tank.
The only downsides I've found are that it's huge. And could have a little more air flow, but that's what a drill is for.

Oh btw clouds and flavor are both very good.

I use both my Orchid V2 and Aqua V2 at 50W and have no problems with them keeping up. (Both dual coil 0.35ohm)
I used spaced coils, so that may be the key here.
I only have problems with the Orchid if I use 70% VG liquid, but that is fine if I wait between hits for the air bubbles to eventually rise through the tank.

Just out of curiosity, what's the attraction to chain vaping and cloud chasing at the same time? Genuine question.

Reasoning for me - I vape 18-24 mg on tanks like nautilus and 6mg on Atlantis

I chain vape, but not usually on my cloud setup. Every once in a while I want big clouds, so I'll "kill" an 18650 on it (a few hours) then I'm good for a week or two usually. Some times you just wanna see big clouds and enjoy larger volumes of vapor.
My standard setup does baby clouds as I prefer flavor and longer battery life :) to each their own though

Totally. I LOVE Big Buddha!! I have one with drilled out air holes. It wicks like a champ, has a huge deck for various build options, and holds tons of juice! It is still my top RTA due to build freedom and superior wicking. When wicked properly, I was able to vape it at 0.12 ohms on a mech mod without dry hits.

You're right tho. It's HUUUGE. I don't really mind the size since it stays on a 26650 mech mod, but I was hoping to find a smaller RTA to fit on my newly purchased SXmini. "Big" doesn't look so pretty on "mini"

Silverplay option I put together here just might be what I've been looking for tho.

Silverplay deck + chimeny + Kayfun full tank + top-fill top cap

Top-fill cap definitely makes its low juice capacity, relative to juice consumption rate, a whole lot more tolerable.

I am not really into cloud chasing, but more into flavor chasing. I am a regular dripper, and I really enjoy the burst of flavor in my mouth and gush of warm vapor during deep lung inhalations. Plumes are more or less a byproduct of the high wattage vaping. And due to its high concentration of flavor and NICOTINE, I vape zero nic juices only.

I have an Orchid as well, and yes, I can vape it at 50+ watts, but I can never get a satisfying open draw like drippers, and wicking is finicky. RTAs mentioned here such as Goblin and Billow shows real good potential.
