Vaporizers allowed me to quit analogs for the first time in my adult life. :)

I started out with 18mg liquid and quickly escalated to "chain vaping" - I found myself vaping more than smoking. Which, truth be told, I enjoy the act of vaping (as I once did for smoking) and I started vaping more frequently. Now, the PV is in my mouth so much that my wife calls it a pacifier. LOL.

This was taking a toll on my batteries, so I decided to try an experiment. I went down the local B/M vaporizer store and bought some 30mg liquid.

Man o' man, that stuff is strong! After a couple of good vapes, I have to put the vaporizer down and chill for a while before I can vape again. It actually makes me a bit light-headed, just like that first cigarette that I ever inhaled. Now, I vape less frequently, my batteries last longer between charges, and I don't spend as much money on juice. Win-win.

The liquid I got from the store (Totally Wicked) has too much PG for my liking, so I add my own VG to dilute it down a bit - not much, just enough to soften the throat hit and produce a little more vapor. So, the 30mg juice is probably closer to 24-28mg after dilution.

If you find yourself chain-vaping and want to cut back on the frequency a little, try bumping up the nicotine level to something more potent.

Best regards,

MikeG

I don't know. I was vaping a ton when I first started, but being in a transitional living situation probably played a bigger role in that than transitioning from cigarettes. I really feel like I vape less each day. I even have my girlfriend cutting into my liquid, and I'm still using less with her using it as well than I was before she started... I've also have been off work for three weeks, so I'm sure that will change when I go back Monday. 23 day long weekends ...! ...for the win acronym is censored?

I wonder if over time you will end up chain vaping the higher nic juice? Similar to how I was with light analog - just hit them more - but in reverse.....

Well, I've been chain vaping 36mg, 80/20 since I started 5-6 years ago. I use 2.0 carto's (sometimes tanked, sometimes not) on a 6v mech mod. However, I'm a nic hound! I would frequently smoke an analog with a chew in my mouth before I converted to vaping. I'm still using 36mg's .......(vape)......right now! I don't suggest anybody follow my lead, it's just what has worked for me to keep from smoking or dipping. I might try a RDA in the near future at home with a respectable ohm microcoil to see if that prevents me from chain vaping at home (wife is't apposed, but does have her reservation about vaping). I understand it's a superior delivery system and cloud production appears to be the proof in the pudding. But I'm afraid that if I drop the nic, I'll end up chain vaping even with the RDA.

This would be true for most people. You just develop a tolerance and your body adjusts. Same thing can happen with coffee and caffeine. You just get to a point where it doesn't hit you like it used to. Best to just take the mental game approach and either resist the urge, or find something to keep your hands busy instead of letting them clasp your PV. :)

You know, I just love the flavor and vapor production. I used to smoke a pipe and this is just as satisfying. The juice isn't really expensive and I bought 5, 18650s, so battery life isn't an issue. I just don't seen an issue with chain vaping. My lungs feel good too, just my two cents. Good luck and have fun!

I'm with you, as long as I am not smoking I really don't care how much I vape. Besides, all the flavors satisfy other cravings and thusly reduced snacking. Losing a few pounds in your 50's is much harder than it is in your 30's. I have lost 6 lbs in the almost 4 months I have been vaping without even trying. I'll happily keep sucking on my tasty pacifier!

I Just noticed where you are from Oldog, I used to live in Venice on the Island and my Mom lived on Center Rd. Small world.

same here. I used to smoke a pipe. I find myself reaching for the PV just because I LIKE the flavor and vapor. I'm at 4-6 mg these days, and occasionally go down to 0. I don't vape more at 0 so I think it's just the flavor and vapor... then I start getting signs of A.D.D. flareup and depression... go vape 12 for a half day, then back down to 4-6 and I'm normal again.

the ADD and Depression are hereditary, so I either will just end up at my current level, or as I keep taking it away I will be able to re-focus and control them naturally...

By then, I may very well be of the age for dementia and will have to have nic to help prevent THAT. But I'm ok with it, because there are no severe long-term negative side effects that we know of.

I had thought about this also. If I see myself moving in that direction, I will hit the brakes a little. Like some others already said - even chain-vaping seems tame compared to smoking analogs. I think part of the craving/urge to chain vape comes from craving more vapor production. I feel like I am not getting enough vapor to satisfy, so I keep hitting the PV. As I have progressed to better upgraded gear, my need to chain-vape has reduced. When I first started out on Blu e-cigs, I would have one in my mouth constantly. That decreased a bit when I moved to an eGo-T/CE4 rig. Now, it has decreased a bit more now that I have a Vision Spinner and iClear-30. I'm getting more vapor, so I feel more satisfied. :)

I still enjoy the taste and sensation of vaping, so I see myself settling into a comfortable medium - somewhere in between an occasional vaper and a chain vaper.
