You could be inhaling more vape per puff in TC mode, it's certainly possible depending on yoru settings. You may need to lower nic in that device (or temp) etc. :)

That's what it sounds like, I guess it could be something else. :)

Best of luck,

Anna
Thanks! This is all so new to me :$
I presume this issue is solved now. Thank you all for your very kind help, and wish you all the best! :)

ActionCow!

just wanted to throw in another :2c:, when i wick my setups for tc, be it tank or dripper; i get a slice of cotton roughly5-6mm wide and about 40mm long, and i dont roll it. getting it into the coil i use a small set of tweezers and it is barely snug, but still movable in the coil. trim the tails to just kiss the bottom of the juice well/tank. then soak them down really well. from what you were describing with the lack of wicking, it does sound like you dried out your wicks. if you can see access youtube i would suggest watching grim green and suck my mod, they have some really good wicking tutorials that have yet to let me down.

Thanks a lot! I have already identified several flaws. I roll my cotton, and have more at the end than touching.
will re-wick and try again, hopefully it will solve my issue. I am still a bit confused by the temperature jumping around, as I just got a message from a guy who showed his graph which was super flat. I am guessing it is MOD based :/

Try changing your TCR to .00092 And your wick should not be loose in coil. Wick needs to touch all of coil, the entire diameter of coil.
Dear,
The wick is touching the entire inside diameter of the coil, it is just easy to slide it around. Will check with 92 TCR. I am just leaving it to wick now, as I still have juice in the tank :)
Thank you for your feedback, I appreciate it!
Best,
Cow

I would try re-wicking it when you can. I think everything will work better (including TC) if your wick is done well. Don't forget, the coil is heating up around that cotton so the way it's wicked does matter for both vape quality and leaking, and the right wicking might stabilize your resistance a bit better in TC mode. Just a thought. :)

Gotcha, doing it now.

Edit: wicked with semi-snug non-rolled cotton, the tips just touch the bottom of the juice cavity. I applied juice to the areas it should get it by default, and it ate up a lot of juice. Seems good so far. Will update on the result.

Edit2: I taste cherry! With a barely noticeable side of cotton. Thanks! The fault was user error it seems. At least most of it. Thanks again!!

Cowtown, USA. Where the West begins.
1) work on your wicking. Sounds like too much cotton. Of course, being a rayon man, I think any cotton is too much :)
2) I think the mod is behaving correctly (I hasten to add I don't have that one and I can't say for certain).
3) It does not surprise me the display lags when the protect feature is on. The smart boards in most mods aren't all that smart. The board is busy at that exact instant, monitoring coil resistance (which is how it tells temp) to see when to turn it back on. It is not impossible the software code just shuts down display output then to keep from overloading. Most people, after all, can't see the screen when they're vaping.

and 4) welcome to the board.

You should feel slight resistance when you move the cotton back and forth in the coil, but not so much resistance as to move your coil out of place. There is a sweet spot for wicking, not too much resistance nor too little.

I can taste that cotton bacon and don't like to taste it. Try that Japanese organic cotton, it comes in flat sheets. Just remove the outermost layer from both sides, perfect for vaping as you can't taste it.

I don't do TC, but it's supposed to not fire or stop working in some way before you burn your cotton and take a dry hit. It is perhaps this feature your dealing with, although with my lack of TC experience I'm just guessing. Sounds like your wicking is not right though.

EDIT: sounds like you found and fixed your wicking issues. .. yea for you!

I would still give Japanese organic cotton a try when you can.. I definitely like it better.

Thanks for all the very useful comments, I'll definitely read the articles, Bob. Suprtrkr all the mods behavior was solved when I wicked properly. It amuses me how my wicking remained sloppy after years of vaping, using RBAs. Opinionated, I used Japanese cotton up to this point, but I feel there is not much difference between that and cotton bacon. The only difference for me is that its easier to take off parts from cotton bacon, however measuring is an issue, where with Japanese cotton, I could just cut off a proper size strip, and it was sorted. I will probably change back to Japanese cotton. I have read disturbing articles about Rayon, and it is not available where I live, so I guess I'll skip it, but if I can get hold of some through a friend of mine, I'll definitely give it a try!

Cow
