Was pleased to receive my MVP v2 from fasttech arrive as other folk have reported to have received Ver 1 within similar time frame of my order and also subjected to these HK post delays.
Ordered on Sat 14th September
Shipped on Sun 15th September (didn’t expect FT to work Sundays!)
Delivery made by the postie Tues 1st October
So 16 days in total but when bearing in mind I ordered at the weekend, the HK post issues, and the typhoon, I don’t think just over 2 weeks delivery from China is too bad especially for free shipping.
The delay at HK post appears to have been 10 days as the status date for being dispatched overseas was the 25th.
Anyhow, the MVP? Well, it’s exactly as described and positively reviewed on here and elsewhere. It’s a great box mod and perfectly sized, ideal for home vaping.
After a few checks and a read up of the manual, I filled up the 2.7 ohm iClear 30 with some juice and started at the lowest voltage moving up to 3.8 and was already getting great vapour and flavour. Oddly the MVP ohm meter was showing 2.0 (-.7)??
Plenty of vv/vw experimentation to be done and with different juices, but just love it already.
As it’s my first mod, upgrading from Ego-C’s, I took advantage of the FT prices to try out a selection of ‘delivery tanks’. Not had time to put any juice in any of them but tried them all out on the MVP using the inbuilt ohm meter just to make sure none were duds.
As expected being an Innokin product also supplied with the MVP, the iClear 16 2.4 ohm SKU: 1384000 fitted perfectly with a MVP reading of 2.0 ohm (-0.4).
So both iClears were showing 2.0 ohms when advertised at 2.7 and 2.4 respectively. This surely points to the MVP ohm meter being slightly out? Not a great issue but worth noting.
I then tried the KWX10, 2.5ohm SKU: 1442701 as the genuine Protank 2s were unavailable. This didn’t work with the MVP supplied beauty ring, giving an ohm reading of NON, but without the beauty ring and then with the beauty ring supplied with the KWX10 the ohm readings were a closer 2.7 (+0.2).
The only one that caused a problem was the EVOD Atomizer, 2.0 ohm SKU: 1430402 as the ohm meter was showing NON, I even switched the coil unit with one of the supplied spares just in case that was a dud.
I tried the EVOD in my Ego-c and it did fire so ruled out the whole unit being a dud.
Then tried my Ego-C cartridge, atomiser, cone on the MVP and that returned NON too.
Comparing the centre pin on the MVP to the Ego-C battery I couldn’t see any visible difference in height but guessed there must be so gently poked the EVOD centre pin down a touch and it worked showing 2.2 ohms (+0.2)
So now wondering whether to order and try a 510-EGO adaptor or if I do need to occasionally fiddle with the EVOD or maybe MVP centre pins. Read somewhere that an adaptor would also help protect the MVP threads.
Oddly being another brand, the black EVOD does look the best on the MVP aesthetically, so glad the tweak worked!
The fire button press, whilst requiring more force than the ego-c doesn’t feel that much of an issue.
The much talked about bottom wobble strikes me as being really odd. The functionality to charge other devices isn't core to a vaping device and is hardly going to be used by the majority of users if at all. So why compromise the finish of this great device with the protruding ON/OFF button?
I did fix it using the method suggested on this forum, just gently pushing the button down using my fingernail and switching between on and off positions
Battery life delivered was 4.1 volts so not charged it yet. Will monitor the power consumption and also the meter reading bearing in mind the ohm meter seems slightly out.
