Hi all,

I've been vaping the EGO type e-cigs for roughly 2 year.

Decided to go with a sub-ohm type about 2 weeks ago, so i got the eVic-VT 60W TC kit and i have been absolutely loving it. I could never go back to an EGO.

I've upgraded my tank to a uwell Crown and recently gained an interest in RDA Drippers so i got myself a Velocity Clone :D.

Got a coil master and my local vape shop helped me set up my first coil. I'm comfortable mimicking what he has showed me and that was a 6 wrap on 4mm diameter with 24GA Kanthal A1 wire.

I'm loving the huge clouds and great flavor. But after much research i'm seeing nano/micro/macro coil builds and i'm getting a little flustered!.

I don't know the difference really, is 6 wrap 4mm on 24GA good or bad? should i go 2mm and what would the difference be from the 1mm, 2mm, 3mm, 4mm and should i go 6 wrap 8 wrap 10 wrap?

I havent a clue haha. Some light shed on this would be amazing and i'd very much appreciate it :D

Kind Regards
Sam

This is just personal preference, but I would suggest trying to go with 26 gauge wire for the coils. 24 gauge is relatively thick and would require more power to heat up. Although if you are enjoying the vape with 24 gauge and it is heating up for you quick enough given the 60 watt maximum of the evic VT, then more power to ya.

Thanks for your input :D I've got some 28GA i'll give that a go. I was thinking the other way around haha xD i though higher was thicker.

Also correct me if i'm wrong.

Higher GA = Thinner coil, heats up quicker = more vapor production
More Wraps = Higher resistance more time to heat the longer coil: more wraps=less vapor
Diameter = Works the same as the wraps, you'll have less overall length of coil so the smaller the diameter the quicker and hotter it will vape?

The lower gauge number, the thicker the wire. Actually, the more wraps equals more vapor, since you have more surface area that heats up to vaporize the juice. The thicker wire typically will require more power (more wattage) to heat up, or more time at the same wattage for higher gauge wire. If you have a larger diameter coil, you will have more surface area so that will vaporize more juice as well.
