My name's Steve. I'm from Vancouver. I am extremely interested in quitting smoking and starting vaping, so is my wife. I need a little help here.

What would be the best kit to buy for someone starting out?

Quality product that ships to Canada. I was looking at the Powerpal and the M601 from electronic-cigz.com but it says their battery only lasts for 5-7 charges, which doesn't sound right. Also with a cart that would last for more then 10 drags. There site claims 5-7 cigs per cart, but people say it only lasts about 10 big vapes.

Could someone point me in the right direction, I'd like to get something ordered next week and start vaping!

Hello and welcome to the forum steevz! I would highly recommend the Joye 510 as a starting point for any newcomer. Many members are using them and are extremely happy, as am I, with the product. I would also make sure that you purchase a PCC to go along with it and a few extra atomizers and batteries. Make sure to purchase some ejuice as well and if I may suggest, in different flavors and different nic mgs. You should also check out the Canadian subforum here Canadian Members - E-Cigarette Forum so you can get some answers as to what suppliers people would suggest and so on. Good Luck and again, Welcome!

510 all the way. The best I've tried so far and lots of places to buy parts. I buy my hardware from Happy Vaper (Canadian, no customs issues). I buy my juice from Vapables, also Canadian. The reason for both as you'll possibly come to find out is all about customs hassles and long wait times. But it has drawbacks obviously. Happy Vaper does not sell nicotine juice, and Vapables does not sell hardware. There are some other Canadian suppliers but I have yet to try them.

Definitely do your research and find somewhere that ships to Canada with no issues. I have ordered and had money taken out, only to be informed that they won't ship to Canada. I got it refunded without issue, but still had it transfer out and back.

And think about getting juice instead of using carts, it saves a lot of money, you'll finish the carts you get with a starter pack and be ordering more right away.

Welcome neighbor. I'd echo the 510 and also recommend one of the M401 powerpal kits from electronic-cigz. They are both excellent units and complement each other well. I get a lot more than 10 big vapes out of a 401 cart and the M601 cart is even bigger. The 5-7 charges is how many times the charging case will recharge a cig before you have to recharge the case. Good luck!

definitely the 510, and perhaps the mega battery. you will learn more about yoru own needs and extended batteries as time goes. definitely dry carts and your own juice, truly the way to go. I have been shipping products to canada for years and as my own shop gets up and running and I get approved for advertising on here look for me to help my canadian brothers soon.
in the end, jump on a 510 bro. I tried a few different products before landing a 510 and am totally happy, even with stock batteries 3 of them get me through a full day. get yourself a charger box for it and carry some filled carts and spare battery in it and you will be good to go.
hit the canadian forum for sure, see you around the board

I just started a short while ago and after trying a couple units, I think you made a good call on the 510. I don't know if E-Liquid by Halo ships to Canada but they are worth checking out. The Nupure juice they sell is really good (former menthol smoker myself). Grats on choosing to vape. I am already feeling better after just a few days of full time vaping! Best of luck to you and yours.

Another Vancouverite ;)

I second (or third... or fourth... or whatever!) a 510 to start with, it's an excellent choice. I've had some trouble with customs letting my orders through, so to get started it may be a good idea to order from one of our Canadian suppliers. There is a new one on Vancouver Island, viecs.com I believe, they have 510 kits for $39.99. I think this may be a good route, but I don't have personal experience with the company. HappyVaper is a popular Canadian vendor for 510's as well. Best of luck!
