So I have built quite a few coils; protanks, evods, RDAs - 28ga/30/32ga/32gatwisted/32gatriple-twisted - micro coils, vertical coils, nano, nano-dragon ect ect ect... I know cotton wicking takes some practice and have found great success on my other builds but ATM I am having quite a hard time with my Kraken / Genesis...
I had trouble getting the ohms down to 1 ohm per coil but finally got there w/ triple-twisted 32ga X 6 wraps on 2mm rod. Dual coil came out @ .5 ohms, awesome!!
Coils glow nice and even, so I started wicking. First I had the cotton a bit snug and could only take a very short draw before getting dry'sh and I would have to tip it upside down for way too long before the wicks would re-saturate. So I tried a few more times w/ the wicks ending up being uneven so one would wick much faster than the other. Tried again and got them wicking much more evenly. Once saturated I can move the wick up and down in the coil, still touching the coil, but able to move a bit without much of any resistance.
That said I still can't take very long draws though wicking is improved overall. As soon as I take a longer draw I get a dry/burnt hit. So any tips for cotton wicking on my genesis? What works for you? Also, have you found that certain style coils work better w/ the genesis in particular (what gauge, how many wraps and what size diameter). I think my wick holes are app 2.5-3mm so my coils are app 2mm ID... should my coils be smaller/larger than the wick holes?
-Any help would be AWESOME!! -Thx
