Help! Need help with my new Innokin iTaste VV 3.0??

Dear APV and Innokin owners,

If you are familiar with this device. The innokin iTaste VV v3.0 please let me know if you have had this issue. I recently purchased this device.

I am using it with Kangertech's glass Evod's at 1.5 OHM's.

When I use my iTaste even if the battery is full, when I take a draw. Even if it is under 4 seconds, the power button

will blink 3 times in the color green and it seems to stop heating? Is this faulty? Normal? I can not find anything on this type of behavior from this device anywhere.

Then when trying to change from VV to VW it seems to turn the coil on while holding the power and "-" or "+" for two seconds. Although I have successfully been

able to switch between the two settings. It seems a little different than that of the manual's description. I do get an OHM reading and puff counter.

I am just not sure about the blinking green light while I am vaping?

If anyone has any light on this? Or has experienced the same? It is brand new?

Thank you for your time!

Smile and keep on vaping... :vapor:

The time out on mine is about 8 - 10 flashes, not 3.

Does it do the same with no topper?

Are you sure your topper is the resistance it's supposed to be? Checked on the VV3?

Is the topper using dual coils? Sometimes they can be "seen" as too low a resistance, and will shut it down the output.

Are you sure it's fully charged? Using the provided micro USB cable plugged into the bottom of the VV3 and into a suitable 5 VDC USB source, until the battery light goes out?

Yes, I charged until green light went out. The coil is a double coil head. Resistance ohms are 1.8 and it's readings are on point.

When I take a long draw and count one 1/ thousand up to 4, the green light flashes. It does not auto shut off , but it does blink green about 3-4 times, I wait till it stops and can go ahead and draw again? No shut off, only when it's held for 10 seconds that the auto shut off works? So I gather it's a faulty piece?

Thank you!

Unless the dual coil is causing problems. That's been reported on some ego styles, so it may also be happening to your VV3.

Can you try a single coil topper to see if it behaves properly?

Ok, so I charged the battery until the light went from green to nothing. I put my normal EVOD glass by KangerTech. My roommate has the same one and did so as well.
We started by reading the OHMs which was correct. 1.8 OHM. Then, I showed him how my green light flashes and it flashes 8-12 times not 4. The light flashes, but it does not auto shut off. It is fine after the flashing lights and I can continue to draw. I noticed the same was happening to him. We counted from 1 sec to 10 seconds and then the green light would flash 8-12 times. I believe that this is normal? I am not sure if I have the right setting for the type of ohm's.

I was told to work with the P= 6.5 and work from there. I do not know much about the other setting. Looks like a shoe horse and I am assuming that is my Wattage? Since the issue is happening to him as well. Does this mean that the iTaste VV v3.0 is working as it should or is it faulty? I can not tell? In addition, the top that my roommate used had one flavor in it and worked great. He changed the top including the coil head and to my surprise and his, the flavor was still eminent with the new top from the old one? He changed the top and coil and the flavor from the older tank and would still have the same taste coming through on the new tank, flavor and coil?? This is confusing? At this juncture I do not know if the VV is faulty or if it has to do with the tank/coil heads. I did try a different tank and noticed no change. I am assuming that the flashing light is a warning for me to not hold down the power button too long while vaping?? Or the iTaste is not working at 100%? I do not know if I should let the vendor know? OR if I should contact innokin directly?

Any suggestion or help is greatly welcomed and appreciated.

Thank you again for your time!

Unless there is an issue with your coil or tank I would say you have a faulty unit. If that is the case you should contact the vendor where you purchased it from. The Innokin products have a warranty but I can not remember how long. I believe it is 90 days but don't quote me on that.

I have 4 iTasteVV V3.0 at my house and all of the have worked flawlessly with iClear 16, 30, Aspire Nautilus, CE5-S, Vivi Nova and other assorted Clearos. The only time I can duplicate your issue is if I hold the button down for 10 secs. Then the light flashes many times and the device will not work again until it is rebooted.

I would contact the Vendor and request service before your time runs out.

Yes, that the time-out to prevent over-heating and damaging the battery.

The manual says 10 seconds, but who's to say how well calibrated it is.

In general, it's best to start with picking one of the modes to work in. If you're at 6.5 watts, then you're in watt mode, and the VV3 will automatically adjust the volts to deliver that to the coil. Then step up one notch and vape some more. Repeat until the flavor goes south, and back off a step or two. Now it's set up for that juice.

It supposed to cut off in 10 seconds I believe, if you're pulling for more than that typically it's because you aren't getting enough vapor, which could be due to the power output, coil, tank, or nic content/juice.

As for tasting the old flavor, if you're going to change flavors cleanly you'll need to rinse the old tank or clean it via whatever method you use like soaking in 91% alcohol or pure white vodka (apparently a lot of vapors drink a lot, it's more common than I expected for people to have vodka, or there's a lot of married vapers who want to say "Honey I HAVE to go buy lots of vodka, don't worry its for science:) and then drying it completely manually or via air dry overnight or whatever method you use. With many clearos like the aspire, protank, etc, all that's required is washing the tank and drying it with a paper towel. Usually it's only the coil that retains moisture and needs to dry long periods of time, but some clearomizers like some EVODs can get water in places that you can't see or reach with a paper towel, like in the seams of the all in one mouthpiece.

Also, make SURE that you don't have juice in the 510 connection causing the flavor you're tasting. Since air holes are there, it could be that flooded connection which is really bad to have juice and batteries mixing, bringing the flavor up through the chamber and drip tip.

I can't recall if you mentioned that you already picked up from previous posts, you can adjust wattage or voltage but not both. Stick with wattage and adjust up until it tastes bad then go down a notch.

Oh and the 10 second cutoff is a safety feature to keep people from ruining coils and exploding batteries in there pocket if something fires the button accidentally.
