HELP Kanger Subtank Nano, Rda/liquid problem

Hey guys i have a few questions:

(I have a Aspire ESP 30W)

So i have a Subtank Nano by kanger and i vaped on it and i would get a lot of dry hits like chronically, whats the reason for this? i use the OCC 1.1 ohms horizontal coils. I even let it wick for a few hours. same result.. And after i got fed up because of this i watch Rip Trippers video about how to do this and i did it exactly, i just use 24 guage Kanthal and 5-6 wraps, and i would get the "check atomoizer" sign. Help

Also another Question, I have a doge rda on the Esp 30w and i put some liquid (Cuttwood Unicorns milk no Nic) can after a hour the cotton was brown. I'm using a 0.7 ohms coil and i am using a build where the cotton doesn't go in coil just under it.

Thanks in advance

my experience is with a kanger subtank mini. When using the occ coils, i always drip some liquid into the cotton from the top of the coil head first, before putting it in the base. Also, i stick a pin through all wick holes just to get better juice flow.

If you are having trouble with kanger's rba, it may be a problem with having too much cotton. Also, the thicker the juice, the slower the flow. So see if using less cotton or using thinner juice will solve your issues.

to your question regarding your mod stating there is no atomizer, try tightening the screws to secure the coil.

pictures may help as well. good luck!

If it says check atomizer means your build is not right check all screws are tight and none of the internal RBA deck is touching the inner housing

Kangertech coils I have never rated there crap IMO maybe try a different coil or learn how to build

You won't buy another coil again once you do ✌️

So, what i mean by i rebuilt the coil on the kanger subtank nano, i disassembled the stock coil and rebuilt it.

And in my rba there is a coil but the cotton is under the coil not through it, im trying to figure out how the cotton is becoming brown, usually this never happens. The RBA works fine its just im wondering how the cotton becomes brown.

I need help rebuilding the stock kanger coil, I did exactly as rip trippers did in his video, only thing different is that i used 24 gauge kanthal. when it hooked it up to the esp 30w its says check atomizer, is there a sort somewhere? With low vg juices the coil worked flawlessly, now i only have high vg juices. I have 3 tanks and i cant use the kanger subtank nano because i have no coil that works. I have the Aspire Triton but my mod can only go down to .3 ohms and its coils are .15 ohms. Now i only have a rda and its not ideal to carry around.

I understand. You're using the stock, disposable vertical coilhead, but you're rebuilding it with a horizontal instead. When you set it in, the mod is not reading your atomizer.
Check the airflow holes at the bottom of the unit. Make sure the wires that goes down are not touching the sides because the whole side is a negative (-) path for your battery. If a wire is touching the side, you have a short. Also, 24g may be too thick for the connections at the bottom of the atomizer. I've rebuilt it before with 24g and it works, but its a really tight fit. Your 5-6 wraps of 24g should give you around 0.5ohm, so you should be OK with this gauge wire.

As for your doge atomizer problem, i dont know. also, pictures! good luck!

Okay that is really helpful :) . How do i make sure the wires aren't touching the sides, i popped the top cap off too. I pull one wire under the grommet and the other through the grommet and then i put the pin in.

FYI

For the Doge, and it can happen to any atty. My set up is like this Coils then Cotton UNDER the Coils

So i put liquid in the cotton and after a few hours the cotton would turn light brown, in the glass bottle the liquid is clear.

I would say the best way to make sure the wires arent touching the sides would be to look at the airflow holes and gently move the wires you see towards the center just a little... and only after you place the positive pin in place.

If that still doesnt work, then you may have to compress your coil just a little (squeeze the coil smaller or remove a wrap) because the contact may be further up the coil towards the cotton.

Get yourself some Kanthal 27 gauge wire and make a 1.2 ohm horizontal coil (will take 6 wraps for your Kanger OCC coil head). Install your cotton wick as shown in the video.

Feed that 1.2 ohm coil somewhere between 13 to 15 watts, and I think you will be very happy.

Don't forget to wet the wick real good just after you have installed it.

[Disclaimer]: The 13-15 watts I mentioned above is for us 'mouth to lung' style vapers that use a slightly restrictive airflow ... For direct lung vapers that use massive airflow, obviously, you will need greater than 15 watts into this 1.2 ohm single coil.

For the Kanger subtank coil i did it!!! ONLY thing is i have to keep the coil unscrewed just a tad for it to work. its a pain in the ..... i used it right now and the flavor is weird. but im also using a new flavor of juice so i dont know which is it.

And for the browness thing i know its not buildup, if i put a new coil and cotton and put the juice on it without using it it becomes brown all over. I think it may be the juice, but how is this happening

Congrats on getting it to work. The flavor is weird because you may still need to break the coil in. I'd start with a low wattage and take quick vapes, the slowly move up to your desired wattage level. again, quick vapes or even just blow outward if you dont want to inhale that stuff.

One of the things you cannot do on these coil heads is to dry fire them to burn off any chemicals, oils, etc that may be on the coil. You can do this easily with a RBA or the RTA that you have, but not with the kanger coil heads. it will go away in time. OH and i am assuming you are wicking the cotton when you first fire the thing.
