Alright, here's my master plan... looking for some feedback to see if I'm missing anything. Here's what I have and what I'm getting:

  • 60ml of 100mg/ml Un-flavored Nic juice
  • VG (Humco brand easily available at Walmart)
  • PG (125 ml)
  • LorAnn flavors are easily available at a local bake shop
  • Five 60ml glass bottles w/ dropper
  • 400ml beaker
  • 50ml beaker
  • Three 3ml syringes
  • Three 10ml syringes
  • Vast assortment of dropper bottles for my final mixes
My *plan* is to (for a 80/20 PG/VG 20mg/ml mix):

  • Dump the 60ml of 100mg/ml nic juice into the 400ml beaker... carefully of course. ;)
  • Add 120ml of straight PG (no nic)
  • Add 60ml of straight VG (no nic)
  • Transfer mixture to five 60ml bottles and add flavoring at a later date
At that point, I'm set up to add 20% flavor and maintain a 20mg/ml strength.

Does anyone see a problem with this? Or is my math way off? I *am* a product of public schooling, you know. ;)

The only thing I see you missing is gloves. I'd at least wear gloves when mixing up the 100mg/ml nicotine liquid.

And I'll give you a tip. I like to reuse my syringes for quite awhile. I use disposable pipettes for the flavors so I don't need to worry about flavors getting stuck in them. The first thing I do with them is wrap the body of the syringe in a layer of packaging tape. If you don't do that, the numbers will wear off pretty quickly.

You also might want to hold off on mixing up ALL the nicotine liquid. I'd keep half of it unmixed so you can try different PG/VG ratios and different strengths in the future. If you are concerned about storing the 100mg nicotine around the house though, go ahead and mix it all at once. It just makes the calculations a bit more difficult if you want to adjust things later.

You shouldn't do it that way. Some flavors are stronger than other flavors. 20% of one flavor can be considerably stronger than 20% of another. You can mess up an entire batch if you are not careful and your different liquids may wind up having different nic levels.

My suggestion is to first make a small batch, say 10ml. Make sure you like the flavor at the current nic level. You may need to add a drop less of PG/VG and a drop more of flavor or vice versa to get the desired flavor at the right nic level. Once you get the right mixture, make a larger batch based on the correct calculations which include the nic, PG/VG, AND flavor amounts.

It will save you some money and possibly a headache.
