I am using a Evic VTC Mini. I just made a 6-6.9ohm SS316L coil for an Ubertoot clone tank. I went to set up for TC, Its is on TempSS316 mode, 250F and for some reason it is asking me for POWER? I set the power to different settings and i am having a strange thing happen. Instead of the power fluctuating, The TEMP is fluctuating from a setting of 250F and it goes down to 75F and goes up to 120F.

This is totally wrong for TC. What might be wrong? Is it suppose to do this in TC mode? Usually alls i ever have to do for TC is set the type of wire, the temp and lock in the oms of the mods coil and it will fluctuate the power that is usually just auto set by the mod. Is something wrong with my mod? Could it be the wire? I have no clue.

Could it be that the Ubertoot clone i am using is not for TC?

EDIT: The temps are in Celcius, my bad, got to remember how to change it back to F. NOW the temp is ramping up to 275F like it use to, but the setting of the power is something i have never had to do, it was always automatic, it usually started at 3.7 volts and jumped up.

Yes i do see the temp fluctuate, but what i am saying is i have never had to set the power, it usually was set itself. Unless i am missing something. I am at 250F and the temp fluctuates down to like 75 then up to 140 at 12 volts. The vape is great at that temp and voltage. But i always had the voltage fluctuate and never had to set it using Ti, Ni wire, it set itself and fluctuated to bring the coil up to temp, usually around 450F on those. I also have the Amp setting that never was a choice when using Ni, Ti coils. I never set the amps for Kanthal.

This is the first time using TC wire in this Ubertoot clone, could it be that this tank, or deck is not for TC? Would be odd since its just a regular deck.
If this sounds like a problem, or if this is exactly how it is suppose to work, please let me know. If not, would a reflash of the firmware be in order?

Sorry for the questions, but this seems wrong, unless i have been using Kanthal for the last 2 months and forgot how this works. BUT one note about TC for me, ALL of my TC builds that worked as i describes were on my Kanger Toptank Mini(same deck as the Protank Mini. Could that be the difference in how this is working?
With all the stuff going into effect, i can not break the hardware lol, i will go broke replacing it or go back to cigs after 4+ years off of them.

I'm sorry, but it doesn't seem like the mod is at fault. First, a 6-6.9Ω coil. I'm pretty sure that's not the actual resistance (very difficult to build such a coil) so the reading is wrong. From there on it's all downhill. The Best Evic can't fire a 6Ω coil, I'm sure. You shouldn't be able to set the volts, and the Evic certainly can't fire at 12v. And your temperature is too low, you should get no vapor. Check and doublecheck your connections, and your resistance, read the manual, and check a youtube video to see how to operate the Vtc Mini.

From Joyetech's site:

Resistance Range: 0.05-1.5ohm for VT mode
Resistance Range: 0.1-3.5ohm for VW/ BYPASS/ START mode

That it works at all with a 6-6.9 coil is pretty surprising.

As said, getting a SS coil in that range, also surprising that it even fits in the atty. That's a LOT of wire!! Or do you mean 0.6?

If the value is jumping around, you likely have a bad connection somewhere, coil screws and 510 connection are the first places to look.

The Kanger products that have TC don't have an option to set up the ramp up power on TC mode, personally I like it when they do, for example, on my VTC mini and my K5, I run it with a .44 SS spaced coil, with a ramp up W of 35, at 235 °C. As I vape I can see both my W and my temp fluctuate to get me an awesome vape. From what you are describing, you are getting the same thing. Now, to change you ramp up W once on TC, while the mode flashes you can go down and adjust the Watts, you can also change that Amps for time or a puff counter. Try it

My bad, Its a .6 SS316L Coil. Ok, now for some reason the wattage or Power is fluctuating from 12.5 to 3.7 w with the Temp going up and down from 275 and protection is kicking in. It is actually working right for some strange reason, below is the Exp.

The part i find weird is i never use to touch or set the Power?wattage before when using TC, it was always usually set and i never had to change it. So right now i am getting a good vape at 275F 13W Power and it is now fluctuating the wattage. I did not touch anything, it just fixed itself when i came home from being away from it for a couple hours.
Now, seeing i am using the Ubertoot as MtL(because direct lung was building up stuff in my right lung) what is a good start for wattage? Sorry about the coil mix up. Its 7 wraps of 26g SS316L.(the vape is warm and tasty.

Thoughts?
Harry.

The watts are supposed to fluctuate to keep you at the set temperature, as long as you've set the watts high enough. 275f is still way too low so something is amiss.
