Hello Friends, My name is Brandy. I an very new to Vaporing. I have done a great deal of reserch, but still find a lot of termonology and what parts are compatable with what brand confusing. I went a head and started with a Kanger-Tech E smart. I have not sceen a lot of people talking about this brand. Does anyone have any feed back about this current brand? I have had my E smart for about a week and 3 days. I really like it a lot. I went from smoking nearly two packs a day to 1 pack every four days. I made the mistake of not getting an extra clearomizers when I bought the starter kit. I beleive that my Clero is starting to go out on me, the vape is not as good as it was a week ago, nor is the tast of my e-juices. So I have also read that the E smart has a 510 clearomizer that is interchangable with the 808d and 808d-1 All this confuses me. my instruction manual does not tell me what kind I have it only tells me that I have the E smart. the 300MAH batterie and the E-smart Clear Cartomizer. Is there a diffrece beteween a Clearomizer and cartamizor? How do I know what e-Cigg I have a 808d or 808d1 or none of the above? What is the reason for getting multiple kinds of e-Ciggs such as upgrading to the E-Vod? when searching for my first, I wanted something that was not going to be huge, and I wanted it to come in pink. Did I make a good decison, or have I made a mistake. Any help or advice would help a great deal. Thanks so much friends.

to start with it is an 808 threading (d1 doesn't make any difference) which is not the most common to get clearo or cartos for.
a clearo is a top or bottom coil tank that you can see through and normally holds between 1.3 to 2.6 ml of eliquid
a carto is a metal container with a filler material that absorbs the eliquid most cartos only hold about 1ml of eliquid
I would recommend ordering some extra clearos for it to keep on hand
Now for the bad news - 808 is not popular anymore - 510 and ego are the most common threads to go with (oh, by the way, 808, 510, ego are all thread configurations for attaching clearos (or tanks) to the batteries
I would recommend before you spend a lot of money on more esmart batteries look at ego style batteries (they will be a little bigger than the esmart) but yes, they come in pink, even pink crystals if you want to go really girly (sorry, I'm a cranky old man)

If you are happy with the E-Smart I would recommend that you get more clearos to keep you going for now while you decide what to do next. I happen to like the E-Smart clearos on some of my 808 stuff...they really aren't bad. I don't know where you purchased yours, but I get mine from vaporkings or litecigusa.
Also the Kanger T4 (for kr808d) are good little clearos. Also avaiable at litecigusa.
You can flush the E-Smart clearo with very hot water to clean it out some...but you would then probably have to let it dry for a couple of days. And a dry burn could also extend it's life...just search you-tube for dry burning...the principle is mostly the same for any clearos.

Man too bad they are 808, i have the 510 model, i have 4 brand spanking new batteries and about 15 brand new clearos. Bought it for my mom but she cant vape or doesnt want to who knows. It is a nice beginners set. You should be good with it for now.right now i think you should concentrate in getting juices until you are ready to step up, just plz plz plz at the minimal when you upgrade go variable voltage!

My first kit was a Kanger ESmart kit. I liked the VV Spinner batteries a lot better than the Kanger and the tanks that the kit comes with are really cheap. I'd get a pair of batteries and get some ViVi Nova tanks to go with, or something similar. You'll end up doing it later anyway if you don't. On the other hand, there is nothing really wrong with the kanger Esmart kit. It's a good starting place.
First of all, whatever keeps you away from cigarette as much as possible cannot be a mistake.
Let's start with the lingo:
As you probably already know, there are 2 main parts that constitute electronic cigarettes, a battery and a "juice delivery system"
Cartomizers, clearomizers, atomizers all serves the same purpose, they are all juice delivery systems. They heat up and vaporizes the e-liquid that you then inhale. They vary only in the way that they bring the liquid into the heating element. They usually last for about a week or 2, so what you are experiencing is completely normal.
808d, 510, 901,etc is the kind of threading or "connection" between your battery and the juice delivery system that your device uses. Don't be discourage, this your first kit, but the 808 threading is on it's way out. The 510 connection has become the norm...
It happened to most of us, we wanted something small when we first started, but quickly realized that larger devices gave a much more satisfying experience. Very few people that exclusively vapes uses what we call "cig-a-likes".
Larger device means larger batteries and larger batteries means, more power, more vapor and less recharging.
Devices like the eGo twists are about the size of a small cigar or a sharpie pen. Comes in all colors of the rainbow, including pink and will greatly increase your experience.
After vaping the "eGo like" (because there is tons of variations) you will realize that they are quite small and handy... And once that happens you might be interested in a bigger more "advanced" device that will further increase your vaping experience. Like this:

Listen to Dakota Jim and Steam Turbine, Brandy. They're learners and teachers. Helped me alot coming to ECF and read what those who've vaped a while did and the progression of their vaping equipment. Also, get a backup battery to what you have, so when the first one is charging the other is right there ready. If there is a vape group in your vacinity that meets monthly or every other month, go to the vape meet. Other smokers, ex-smokers, newbies and pros, and vendors will be there and will answer any and all questions you'll have plus you'll have a wonderful time socializing, comparing equipment, and your stories of discovering this amazing new fangle thing of vaping!
I know my Kanger tanks were great tasting at first, but then it got worse..and worse...the coils and wick inside got gunked up from so much vaping.
This is going to happen, so then I learned about how to clean/dry burn the coil. THEN I learned about rebuilding the coil itself.
The vape? MUCH better. Loads of vapor and much tastier too.
What I use is a Kanger EVOD VV (variable voltage, you can turn it up or down to adjust taste/vapor production - you typically dont turn them up really high tho..a little adjustment goes a LONG way) and Kanger Protank II Minis. I got some wire (called Kanthal wire) and some sterile cotton balls from CVS. I watched a video someone put on YouTube about how to rebuild my Kanger coil.
The link to the video is in my blog post, click that 1 << over on the left if you are curious. Basically the guy wraps the wire around a 5/64ths drill bit (its 2 millimeters wide so it gives you a very even coil) and then puts it in the Kanger head and puts a cotton wick in it.
Sounds awful and a pain to do right? Nope! Its easy!
There is a few things to know about rebuilding heads tho': You have to test them so you know they arent shorting out - we are using electricity here, after all, and to tell that the resistance of the coil is within a range that will let your battery operate safely.
I dont know much about clearomizers, I think folks use them and then throw them out? All I have so far are these tanks, and Im reluctant to try anything else because they work so well (and like I said, if it tastes awful I can remove the cotton wick and put some more in).
Just keep at it, if you hang out here long enough you will end up with lots of knowledge and you will be fixing up your own gear soon enough, and then even making Do It Yourself juice too.
And, like someone said above, anything you do to vape more and NOT smoke is positive. Dont forget that this is a massive support forum and folks are around 24/7.
Also DO search YouTube for information on YOUR specific gear - how to clean that clearo and dry burn it.
Someone else above (or two someones) mentioned the MVP 2.0, its about 40 bucks + shipping at its cheapest lately. Its a nice piece of gear, I am considering getting one myself. It looks funky but it can actually *tell* you the resistance of your rebuilt coil, as well as adjust voltage. Folks rave about them - maybe not everyone - there is lots of different pieces of gear, but for the price it cant be beat.

then you can add in sub-folders for juice, DIY juice, ECF forum threads you like, YouTube videos you pile up about gear, etc.
Pennyvaper shows you the lowest prices on stuff all over the 'net. I keep looking at it waiting to see if anyone can beat 101vape's low low price on that MVP 2.0 ...probably not, its 39 bucks and thats already low.
Oh yes, like Jim mentioned above: Glass (specifically Pyrex tanks) are good to have...some juices can damage a plastic tank and FAST. Pyrex wont be hurt by citrus juice for example. Kanger makes a lot of Pyrex tanks.

Thank you everyone for all your advice and input. I have really learned a great deal. My one question now is, If the 808 is on its way out, will the 510 fit my battery? For examply could I grab up some 510 cleros to put on my 808d-1 battery. Are the threads interchangable. Im heading out to a smoke shop right now and im going to see what I can do. Im not saying that I dislike what I have, but Im noticing less vaport after week and four days of solid use. someone told me the clero should only be replaced once a month, Im finding that to be very untrue compared to what Im reading every where, ( she however does not use her daily like I do.) Im going to take the advice of many of the above info and see what I can do to better my vaporing experience. Thank you everyone for all your help. will be in touch. I bought my e cigg from light cigg usa, they say this kit has the upgraded threads to be interchangable, but with what im not sure maybe te 510? I will continue to read though the info and see what I can find out thanks so much friends. I will be looking up a vapor group in my area

Great thank you so much. I was hoping to avoid buying a new kit in such a short time period, but we will do what we have to do, like you said whatever keeps me from smoking is worth the time and money. Thanks steam for all your help. I wish I would have know they were phasing out the 808 or I would have gone with something more popular, but according tot he website this is an upgraded version 320MAH battery and whatever lol, but many have told me that eventualy I will want to go with something bigger, I was under the impression that bigger only ment longger charge, but apparently that is untrue it also means more vape and more throat hit. thanks friend
Here is a review of the iTaste vv Version 3... By the way, this if from PBusardo, one the the most respected reviewers of electronic cigarette products. I strongly suggest that you check out a lot of his videos.
You will want a backup anyway for the time this one is charging. My suggestion is get that adapter and an Ego Twist or a Vision Spinner battery. There are better batteries but the price goes up. They variable volt batteries with the same form factor. The advantage of variable volt is that you dial in the amount of vapor and taste to suit your preference. I would also suggest a Vision viva nova or a Kanger Evod for a juice delivery device. In my own experience they both give a good trouble free vape. Both of them have easily replaceable coils. Notice that I am naming specific brands here. That is because these brands are the ones that I found to be the most reliable for these specific items.
The coils of any carto including these only last one to three weeks and need to be regularly replaced or burned. I like these two for their simplicity. There is no such as a best battery or best juice delivery device so take what you read with a grain of salt including what I say. It is all about what works for you.

Darker juices tend to gunk up coils faster. I would also recommend either a new system such as an ego. Or an adapter for your 808 threaded battery to use 510 or at least ego threaded clearomizers.
