Hello everyone I’m very new to vaping and all this cool stuff and I’ve run into a problem. I ordered a juice from salt mic called “tropical mango” with a 5% nicotine level and it seems to mess up my pod for my smok rolo badge. Whenever I take hits from this juice it taste super burnt but I know my pod isn’t burnt because I’ve tried it on 2 different while waiting 5 to 10 minutes for the juice to settle in my pod. I’m not too sure if it’s my rolo badge that’s making this a problem because a friend of mine bought the same juice but he doesn’t get the burning taste. I’ve also tried blowing into the pod because my friend told me too. I really need someone to help me here.

Thanks in Advance!

I don't know anything about the smok rolo badge.. I did look it and your juice up though, but it sounds like it's a coil problem within the pod. For whatever reason the pod isn't playing well with that juice.

The mods wattage might be running too high for the coil, which is a common smok problem. A problem I have had with smok before, although not that particular device.

Your might try changing out to a different pod and see if that doesn't solve the issue - perhaps the coil in the pod your using (they are a part of the pod and not replaceable outside of replacing the entire pod) didn't meet quality control standards that it should have.

Smok claims the mod runs between 10-16 watts, which is in general possibly a bit high for a 50mg ejuice. You might also try a 25mg ejuice in it instead and see if that plays better together.

I'd honestly try a different pod (because the coils are inside the pods), then a different juice (one with a little lower nicotine) and if those two choices don't work then try and return the device...

Do make certain your allowing the coil to prime before vaping. Usually you'd like to fill your pod then wait a while before vaping.. 15 minutes or so.. maybe even 30.

Most high nic salt juice is designed for MTL vaping. I don't own the smok pod but I might hazard a guess that it's designed to be sub0hm (although I don't know that for a fact). It's possible the juice isn't playing well with the setup, and depending on the resistance of your coil, that percentage of nic salts might be completely overwhelming (what resistance is your coil?) If it's below say 0.8 and the wattage is fixed and higher than say, 25 watts (what wattage are you using?) you may actually be able to dilute that juice down using VG to get it to an acceptable level (both VG wise and nicotine as well.)

So, I would recommend a bit more information if you have it. It could be priming issues but it could be the juice itself, or you may have gotten a bad pod even though you've
"tested it" elsewhere, that may still mean the pod is bad, the juice isn't right for the pod,, etc. If you really can't isolate the problem maybe going to a Brick and mortar vape shop could help and/or maybe watch some youtube reviews and demos on your device. I have very often found that helpful as far as learning to operate new equipment.

Best of luck I hope you get it resolved! And welcome to ECF.

Thanks Anna, So the information I’ve accumulated about my device is that it values around 10-16 watts if that’s anything. I’ve also let it prime in my pod and when I said I tested it I meant I’ve tested it in two other pods and came to the same conclusion. Thank you for responding if there is any other information that could help me could you please let me know because I am very clueless about about this stuff haha.

Thank you for responding to me it really helps, I’ve been letting my pods prime for around 10 minutes and tried another pod and let the juice sit in the pod for about an hour and came to the same conclusion that it still tasted burnt. I’m pretty sure it’s the liquid because a lower nicotine liquid was working just fine and didn’t taste burnt, but they were around 48mg so I didn’t think a 50mg would have such a drastic difference. Thanks again for responding to me and welcoming me.

No a 2 mg difference is nothing..

The difference between the liquid that worked and the liquid that didn't must then not the VG / PG ratio..

If you tell me brand and flavor of each juice I'll look up what the difference is, that way you can buy the ejuice that works without accidentally purchasing one that doesn't..

And your welcome..

glad to have you here.. :)

Sorry I know nothing about that mod or pod but I do know nic salt juices are recommended to be used on high resistance low wattage devices. Ime smok tends to be the latest and greatest shiny new tech mass produced and often challenging. So above 1 ohm coil and the kind of power you get from the simple little starter kits that are intended for new vapers who tend to gravitate towards Mtl.

Welcome and glad you joined.
Smok does not tell us what the coil resistance is nor do they recommend a free base or nic salt percentage. Quickly checking a few sellers, one recommends free base nic juice 3-12 mg./ml. (MVS) and others nic salts at 25-50 mg./ml.(Element).
re:
SMOK Rolo Badge Kit - All-in-One Pod System
SMOK ROLO Badge Ultra Portable System | Vape Pod Kit
I would try 50/50 12mg. freebase and see if that improves the taste.

The flavor that works is from a brand called vapejoosevin there high nic section I bought strawberry banana 48 mg. The juice that taste burnt is from saltnic and is called Tropical Mango at 50mg.

Got it..

the vapejoose strawberry banana is 30% VG / 70 % PG

The saltnic Tropical Mango is 55% VG / 45% PG

The difference is that the one which works for you is a higher PG level.

The reason your pod mod is giving you a burnt taste with the higher VG is that it's unable to wick it. VG is more viscous than pg is and is more difficult to wick with coils designed for extremely high PG levels.

What you can do first is take the burnt pod out and toss it. Then add a very small amount of DISTILLED water to your tropical mango, in order that it's as thin as the juice that works, and then fill a new pod and vape away. (Don't overdo the water... your just trying to match viscosity)

That should fix your problem. Next time you buy juice just know you need a higher PG level.. 70% for it to wick in that coil or you'll have to thin it with a drop or two of distilled water.

either a pod problem or the pod isnt reading your coils correctly
