If it's in the US there's no way I was close! Idk why I couldn't log in but they fixed it for me. Tracking still doesn't work though. Takes me to some wierd place with no info.

I wanted a clone mech so bad till I saw the switches used in most of them! Like a bent paperclip that hits the 510! If they'd post a pic of the switch for all of them I'd get one.

I got a scrcy scoundral, timekeeper, Storm Rogue and Twistgyre in the second order. I'll pull them apart and pic the switch parts for ya. Sounds like the little disc that came in Anarchist v1 clone. God, I hope that aint the case for their switches. I like to build springs for my mechs using copper wire and so will attempt, no matter whats in there.

Most clone switches are probably fine for series configuration and even higher ohm parallel configurations but you know what my builds look like. Some are 0.1ohm or lower.
But if you know of one that can do it...or atleast be easily modified to do it, I'd probably get one at some point. I have a Hohmwrecker G2 that I got instead of a mech but there is still some appeal. I'm not sure why I still want one but I do.
Maybe because the end of the world is coming? Idk.
For now I just keep the FSK and dna chips wide open. lol

I saw the latest aliens you did, very nice!

I don't try to push battery limits (too far) on mah mechs. The lowest I run is .2. I certainly have a plethora of them though. I'll go through them and give some of my recommendations. I will say the Munstro v1 has handled the lower builds very well.

Mechs are just another part of the hobby. I love vaping them and would definitely recommend picking up one or two, just in case an EMP wipes out the FSKs and DNAs ;)

It's not an EMP I worry about. It's the life of the silicon and the FDA.
But if I don't die from heart disease or lung cancer there'd be less demand for the research on the matters and people would loose money. All because I'm selfish enough to try to be healthy. Lol.

Imagine going to jail for vaping paraphernalia in a few years.

Lol. Exactly. That's why I want one so bad.
2 years from now I might have to hook a 510 to a car battery. Or a tyco-rc pack.
Any shipping updates? Since I orderd right after you (next day?) and I live in KY, I'd expect mine about 2 days later.
Piggyback shipping updates.

Time to start pestering the mailman!:tumble:

Weird that it says "The item is currently in transit to the destination as of November 2, 2016 at 7:35 pm." It's ony 2:24 PM today, Nov. 2ndo_O Maybe they're still on China time:?:

What are we at now? 17 days?
Well, this is what I am showing on day 18!!

USPS final.PNG

Only problem that I see is normally, where it says "Sorting Complete", it will say "Out for Delivery" if it is headed to me. But fingers crossed it makes it today;) My guess of 18 days was also a shot in the dark as my last few china orders were all atleast a month. Either way whiteowl, you said you didn't own a mech yet?

Nope. Got the G2 instead. Now both my vt133s took a dive after one has been RMAd. On-going messages with Evolv and HCigar...should have got something cheap. It would still work!

It says out for delivery when the carrier has it. But your ETA matches up so IDK. I hope mine is right behind it!

Well, still awaiting mr. postman but looks like your days without a mech are limited. Once he gets here well see if you get your choice from a lot or if you get one of my choosing. Either way you'll get to toy with a mechanical mod to see if they are right for you;)

I just picked up the G2 for $44 from vaporcube with the code: G2FLASH. Excited to work with Ka1 in tc mode! Also scooped up the Hohm slice.

@whiteowl84 @MMW Alrighty here we go:

Off the bat, It is defintely a 24mm clone and I would be pretty TOed if I were Dotmod. Pretty well machined, nice threads everywhere. Fit all around is good. the deck is weird. It is held in by the positive pin. It was loose when I took it off so the whole deck kinda shifted around. I tightened it fine but then it seems to have trouble getting back into the chimney. I loosened it again and it went in easily. Def something needing further inspection. Overall, good clone quality. The DT was kinda chipped (smoked glass) but there is a replacement in there. And (the reason I'd be TOed if I were Dotmod) I laughed my A** off when I opened the package to this:

Here are pics of the package contents:

IMG_2802[1].JPG

I even got a little glass container w/ cork top that had 2 premade, twisted coils (not the aliens that come with the auth. :( ):

All said, this looks very promising. Can't speak further until I get it home and build it, but looks to be well worth the $13.99 I'd say. I hopt the Kindbright black version is as well made (I have no idea who is behind this gold version). I would love to compare this to the authentic version.

Edit: Scrolling through this I noticed the "Certificate of Authenticity" is missing the t in certificate :w00t: maybe thats why they can get away with this product packaging ripoff??!! I mean, it's not an exact copy righto_O

So I bought the same 24mm clone. The quality of the gold plating blew me away. It is stunning. Unfortunately it went down hill from there. Every component looks perfect. The method to build this thing is the most complicated I have ever encountered. I saw video reviews that said just to loosen the 510 pin when assembling but that did not work for me. I tried that and got massive leaking through the air holes. Building on the deck was easy. If you use too much cotton this thing will never seal properly in the chamber. I finally figured out that I had to completely remove the 510 pin after I made and tested my build. Then I removed the deck and placed it into the slots in the chamber and tested to make certain it was seated and locked in place. This is tedious work but it is the only way to build this thing. Then I would place the end cap on and screw it down making certain the build deck never moved (you can see it through the wick holes). If it moves you have to start over.

I then placed the 510 pin and screwed it down. On the first fill I learned the hard way to only fill up to the top of the gold chamber and let it prime. Take a few puffs. If you don't do that and try to fill all the way you will have a mess of juice come through the air holes. Basically you are only filling it half way. No matter how I place the cotton this rta floods when filled.

I have rebuilt mine several times trying different approaches. No matter how I build it I cannot fill the tank completely without getting leaking. I wound up using it more as an rda than an rta since I only fill half way to avoid leaks. Obviously it is in reality holding far less than 3ml of juice unless you want to watch it leak out. I own several rta's and none of them have this problem or are nearly this complicated to build.

Would I buy it again? Considering the complicated build and the fact that it leaks if filled I probably would not. It does perform and look very nice as long as you are willing to put up with the complex build and the leaking issue. I have changed the o-rings and the glass just to make certain that is not causing the problem. It is not. Does the original have these problems? I guess I will never know as I would not invest in it just on the chance that it does not have all these problems. This clone looks like a very high quality 1:1 so I have my doubts that the original would perform much differently.

Sorry for the long post but I wanted to get my experience with this out there for prospective buyers. Bring your pith helmet and surgical gloves if you intend to get into this. If anyone here has found a way to get this rta not to leak when filled I would be grateful for any advice.

For those of you who may be seriously considering this product or have read my long comments above there is hope. I went back at it today and found the solution to the leaking problem. Since the solution is contrary to any of the videos I watched on this product I wanted to share it here. I want to preface this by saying that I own several rta's and none would have required this approach. I had to get really creative about this build to figure it out.

So here it is. I went back today and took it all apart. This time I added two balls of cotton, not even connected to the wicking cotton (although certainly touching it). I place a ball of cotton in what would be the wicking channel on each side of the deck behind the wicks which were already in place. It was in that one area on each side I added a lot of cotton. I laid the original wick over the new cotton balls so that they were touching. In that one area on each side of the deck it is packed with cotton which effectively plugs the wick holes with a lot of cotton.

I reassembled the entire unit which is as described above and then filled the tank. No leaking. I vaped it for more than two hours before writing this so the results seem to be holding with no leaking. Those wick holes need to be packed with cotton. Could you do this with the wick that run through the coils? Possibly, but I tried that and could not get enough cotton through the coils to make that happen.

Now you have the solution if you choose to buy this product. Plug the two wick channels (the wicking holes) with cotton balls. It works. I am now enjoying the product but if you plan to get into this you will need a lot of patience. It is a beautiful looking rta and once assembled as I have described a great vape.

Does the real one have the same jankey deck/510 thing? Where you need to loosen the pin to screw on the deck?
It's very odd.
Overall for $13 it's pretty cool even if the deck isn't 1:1 (it isn't).

My hat's off to dotmod for this clever little wicking system and the original deck.

First, I cannot tell you that the clone I have is the same one being sold for $13 on the net. I bought mine through a local distributor in Thailand at more than twice that price. It should be noted that due to various issues all vape gear sold locally is much more expensive than internet prices.

Now to your questions. The deck on my clone is identical to the video and photos I have seen of the original. Yes, you do have to loosen the 510 pin and even remove it for several parts of the build operation. Mine came packaged exactly as the one in the photos above. Only obvious difference is the clapton coils included instead of the twisted wire coils included in the clone above. That does signal that they may come from different manufacturers. I can also tell you that the gold plating on my version is real. I don't know about the $13 version. I also own a Kayfun V5 clone that looks and operates perfectly but I have seen Kayfun V5 clones from other manufacturers that are far less quality. You need to be careful about your choice when buying clones. Some companies like SJMY and Tobeco seem to have a history of producing high quality clones.

Checking out some of the reviews of the authentic shows that the base/deck design is very similar on the clones, though the OG looks to be much better quality.

@Chodi I too have the leaking issue upon refill but only a small amount during the fill. I just quickly refill, top it and flip it. Mostly about 5-10 drops leak from the tip. Once no more is dripping, I flip it back over and quickly vape it to get rid of any standing juice. And, I use just enough wick to sit above the juice intakes, inside the chimney. Any more, and it doesnt seem to wick properly. I may have to try the cotton stuffing method you describe.
As far as the 510 pin, all I need to do is loosen it and I can turn off the base as the deck swivels freely, then pulls down and out of the grooves. Of course, I am working with the 22mm Black Chrome Kindbright Clone. I haven't been able to build on the 24mm Gold clone as I took it apart to clean and dropped my positive terminal deck piece down the drain:( I got upset for a few minutes then went on a hunt for a replacement. Let's just say I hope these pieces are 1:1 (at least for the deck parts) because the customer service rep at DotMod didn't deny my request based on the picture I took that showed him what piece was missing. I should have (hopefully a working) replacement by Friday. I will also then have a hybrid clone/authentic version:cool:
The airflow is where this thing shines for me. So much air coming through there:) Flavor isn't amazing, but maybe need to experiment with different builds. All in all I am glad I bought the clone and I don'think I'll be throwing down $60-$70 for the auth. Maybe when it's on sale for $20 in a few months.

The method to build this thing is the most complicated I have ever encountered.
This thing does take some time to get right but grab a sigelei moonshot and tell me what you think:p That thing is such a PITA for me. This build deck is actually similar, but designed much better IMHO.
