Hi, allow me to introduce myself. Frank here, a smoker of about 20 years. Started jogging and stuff recently, and thought I'd compliment this by attempting to switch to Vapourisers.

I bought one of these (actually I've got two of them now):

Ah ok, I can't post links. It's the 'Vivid Vapours e-liquid electronic cigarette starter kit'.

about a week and a half ago. I am in general quite pleased with it - it tastes nice and I get a decent draw from it. However, withint three days, it stopped drawing and I took it back to the shop. I think I was overtightening the battery, and got the old pushed down terminal problem. Anyway, today I collected it from the shop and they had 'got it fixed'. I bought it back home, and yes it is fixed now, but really hard to draw on.

Also, while I was waiting to get it fixed, I bought a spare, which works really well, and I'm being very careful about how I screw the battery in, and with the charger too.

So - vapouriser no. 1 seems to work but is really hard to draw on.

Vapouriser no. 2 works really well, but I am starting to get a very slight rubbery taste from it. It's strange, when it hits my tongue it tastes ok during the draw, but when I exhale, there's a faint rubbery taste. Not sure whether I'm imagining it or not, tbh.

My technique is - press the button about 1 second before I start drawing, then draw for about 4 seconds, then pull pen away from mouth, and let go of button. My draw strength is that of if you were drinking milk through a straw.

I'm thinking clearomiser no. 1 needs a clean and is blocked somehow - how can I do this?

Clearomiser no. 2 - hmmm.... am I burning it out slowly?

In general, I like this make, even though it's only a starter kit.

Any advice? Cheers.

I got some from Amazon, 7 for £10 works out like £1.43 each and they were delivery free within 2 days. I find them just as good as the iClear 16 and they don't leak.

I am but an amateur but they seem fine to me. You will need to check if they fit yours first but they seem like a very standard fitment.

I can't post links apparently but they are 7 X Shisha Pen GS_H2 Clearomizer Atomizer Ego T if you search Amazon.

Edit: they will fit.

So you reckon there's no way of actually cleaning these or prolonging the life of them?
If you can take your tank apart and replace the coil then you there are things you can do to prolong the life of them. If not, you basically have to replace the whole tank.

There are other options for a tank with replaceable coils that would be much cheaper in the long-run. Basically any tank with EGO/510 threading (if that's what you have) would work on your battery.

Ok, so it looks like I have a lot to learn about these, thank you for the replies so far.

What I'm doing now is - clearomizer no. 1 which is so tight on the draw, it's ineffective, I'm experimenting with 'wash and dry burn' that I've see on youtube, consisting of running it through with water, drying it out, and two second blasts on the battery to dry burn it until the coil glows orange when viewed through the centre pipe.

I'll let you know the results. I got nothing to lose because this one doesn't currently work properly anyway.

It sounds like no 1 might be faulty. I get a real nice easy draw on all the ones I have bought so far. It seems very complicated at first and quite a mountain to climb. I got a nice Kangertech Mini pro 3 tank where you replace the coils. It was £10 alone. I don't really think much of it. The Amazon ones seem to give a better hit and flavor. The Kangertech seems dry. I figured if I can get the whole things for around £1.40 each then I don't really need an expensive one where I replace the coils.

Just my findings so far.

Yeah Paul looks like you're right.

With no. 1, I just successfully flushed it with water, then activated the atomizer with nothing in it for a dry burn. Eventually, loads of vapour came out, then I could see the atomizer burning orange through the pipe.

Hopefully, I then filled it up, and tried to use it again, but still can't draw from it.

Interestingly, if the clearomizer is not attached to the battery, I can suck through it no problem, but as soon as I connect the battery, there's no airflow. This battery (no. 1) works fine with no. 2 clearmoizer, so that rules out the battery. Very strange.

Anyway, that's about as far as I can take it. Looks like it's new clearomizer time for that one. I can't quite work out why the airflow is restricted when the battery's connected.

Ah well, guess these things do have a bit of a learning curve to them. Thanks for the recommendation, I'll have a look into those.

Update - I just picked up a couple of iclear16's and a vast improvement over the crappy CE4's. Much better vape, build quality, easier to fill, and they seem to be keeping their performance. When I get the money I'm gonna try those cheap ones from Amazon for a comparison.

I also now have an ego twist in the mail to pair with these iclears.

Getting there.
