Just some input from an old lady....don't ruin the 'moment' with a toy.

I'm afraid I must agree with Bronze & IG on this one. Forget the 25 cent plastic ring. Go for a ring-pop. At least that way she'll have a blue tongue when she tells you to **** off.

No offense to anyone here. And my questionable track record with marriage aside...

If this girl doesn't like the joke, she ain't gonna be a good match for him in the long run.

Bwahahahahaha.....I love ya lion, but how do I say this in a diplomatic inoffensive manner?...

No

That will do it. Of all people, I appreciate brutal honesty.

Just because I am socially ......ed when it comes to the pitfalls of marriage does not make me wrong on this.

Ever tried it? Know any friends who tried it? If so, how many stitches were needed from being brained with the back of a shovel? LOL

No. I have not tried it. I have proposed only once, in a traditional sweet manner. It was the worst disaster in the history of marriage.

But, you are talking to the guy who changed the contact info of his cousin to look like the winner of the "Edd's Cheerleader of the Day" and talked her into sending him a series of suggestive texts to pull one over on my lioness. So no prank is beyond my imagination. Picc's seems like a mild funny one to me. I bet his future wife will love it and they will laugh about it for years.

But I could be wrong...then again, so could you folks!

My two cents:

It depends on the woman. The person that Should know her most would know whether or not it would ruin the moment or just make it a special memory with a chuckle built into the memory.

I have a very special memory of how Mr. Robin proposed, but in the way it was done.....I cannot share that memory and to be brutally honest, I think I would've preferred what Picc is proposing over what I had (see what I did there?). ONLY because I would have been able to have a laugh and a story.

Like I said, just my two cents and Picc SHOULD know if his girl would get his humor or not.

Thank you, Robin. For at least permitting the possibility that your dashing and jovial (if sometimes clumsy) lion could be correct about this one. I do agree that Picc knows best what his girl will want. I am excited for him.

(Better him than me!)

AHA! - BUT! She DID agree to marry you!

On the other hand, if PicC was reeaally serious and wanted to do it with a big bang, I guess he could give the top of entire bedroom dresser back to her in addition to a ring....

You're absolutely right Mr Roar. I was just answering your previous question.

Yeah. She did. And the marriage was an abomination. It was the worst marriage ever. Police, bitter recriminations, property destruction, psychological damage, financial ruination, lifelong bitterness toward the institution of marriage. Then we got home from the honeymoon!

Come on guys, this is Picc we are talking about. He is a wild, free spirit. He's the guy who made the death juice skull video on Facebook! He is my co-conspirator for the Viking Raids of August 2013!

If his girl loves him, she will love the prank. Just my opinion. But citing my marriage ain't the way to change my mind.

EDIT: The top part was a joke. A joke with a slice of reality, but meant to be funny. Besides, jokes which are sprinkled with truths can be the funniest. They can also be dangerous...not that my humor has gotten me into hundreds of very tense situations throughout my existence...
