Hi,

I have a really immediate question that I hope someone can shed some light, because I am getting a bit worried. I basically started e-cigs about 3 weeks ago, which has its benefits so far, I seem to be able to breathe a little better and definitely not coughing as much. But at the same time, I noticed that every morning when I wake up, when I clean my nose, there is almost always blood that comes out with my snot (sorry if this sounds nasty) but this worries me. I know before I started smoking e-cigs, this would occur probably once or twice a week but not almost every day. I smoke normally 12mg, I don't chain vape until the night, I think it might be because i do this before I sleep, I'm not sure if this is nicotine overdose =X. If anyone can shed some light it would be GREATLY appreciated.

I get that to ,as long as your not talking about blood running out of your nose. In that case I would go see a doctor. But I've found if I use saline spray a couple times a day it helps.Didn't realize I blow the vapor out of my nose as much as I do. I use Ocean brand nasal spray to keep moist.I agree with dlsw.

I think because vaping is drying to our systems, and the blood vessels in our nasal passages are so fragile, you may just be dried out. But if it is concerning to you and you are able to afford it, go see a doc just in case. If you suspect maybe it is just dryness, besides drinking a ton more water, try using olive oil to keep your nasal passages moistened. Works great when I have had colds and taken medicine that dried me up too much. Good luck!

It is not unusual, as far as, yes it sometimes happens.

I had sinus surgery last week and I have been using vaping to help dry them out while they heal. The menthol flavor helped as well. It does dry out your sinuses as well as your whole body. Lots of water, more than we think we need, will help.

If it actually starts bleeding, then get help, or if you still have doubts. You know your medical history and are in better position to make a decision than anyone in ECF!

Vaping has actually lowered my blood pressure although it does increase my pulse for a few minutes afterwards. Everyone is different, so keep track of changes.

Take care. Relax. Enjoy.

Thank you all for the replies, sorry couldn't reply sooner. It does seem like its dry, blood isn't running, and at the same time i think I should be thankful the blood isn't dark red? (its light) Yea it might be because I don't drink too much water before I sleep but I do vape, I'll try to keep the balance tonight to see what happens tomorrow, thank you all!

Good! Sounds like dryness... We didn't have much of a winter so my allergies are kicking in full time now, too. Vaping is incredibly drying, so more water and some saline spray before bed should help. Let us know how you do!

Just wanted to throw a quick update, after drinking a good amount of water before I slept, when I woke up I did not get blood, so I think that's the answer there, thank you all for the insight!

Thank You for the update.

I was concerned that we may have caused you to delay getting medical assistance. Glad things are on a more even keel as I'm sure it has relieved your mind considerably!

Relax and Enjoy!
