I wouldn't say I'm a heavy cigarette smoker. I only smoke 2/3 fags a day (sometimes none), however I do smoke other "substances" frequently. So 12.5g lasts me about 3-4 days.

A friend bought me a Vamo as I'm giving up smoking completely! So I just wanted to know what the actual benefits are in comparison.

Obviously, vapor is somewhat better than tar filled smoke. But how much better, as I know for the first few weeks, I'm going to be puffing on it like the Orient Express. At the moment, I can barely inhale anything. I just choke on each toke, almost coughing my guts up, It's easily the harshest thing i've ever smoked. I did have a cheep and cheerful E-Wizard pen and when I purchased it, the person did say my lungs will adapt to it after the first few days. I smoked it for a good 4 weeks until, I gave up on it. *Choked so hard on it while i was driving, i nearly passed out and caused an accident.*

Now, I don't know if it's because my lungs are beyond dead xD or I'm not giving it enough time. Each day I smoke it, it's like how it was when I first tried, but it does get easier throughout the day, then I sleep and my lungs have done some System Restore operation during the night. - Is this a normal thing?

But yeah, if anyone can provide any details on the benefits, just to reinforce the idea of swapping smoking for vaping. Then please comment ^^.

Thank you guys!

Hi again, Fullon!

Yes, the irritation is something a lot of new vapers experience. Some things you can try:

  1. Don't smoke it like a cigarette - take slow longer draws into your mouth and then gently inhale
  2. Let the e-cig have time for the wick to re-saturate after taking a draw (the wicks need a few seconds between draws to get wet again)
Other things that might irritate are a high nicotine level in your juice and a high percentage of PG vs VG.

In any case, vapor is not the same as smoke, and your throat and lungs are getting used to the different sensation. Give it time, and your body will adjust.

Yeah, when I purchased my first Ecig, I was using Juice with a Nicotine level of 14/16 which was far higher than I needed. Tbh, I would just go for a straight 0 as its more the ritual of smoking rather than getting a hit of nicotine.

Like I said, I can go a day without smoking and not even realise, so I don't get them strong nicotine cravings. But I might go for a 4/6 just in case.

When I take the longer draws in, I sort of panic because im scared of choking and i just let it out, as i feel the smoke building up xD. Also, I find it hard to control my inhaling, an inhale is just an inhale to me :L I only have one strength setting haha.

But I will definitely look into the PG vs VG levels.
