Having issues with my set up flooding plus another question.

So the last two times I had to replace the coil unit my Kanger EVOD uses, after about a day's worth of vaping only and it slowly started gurgling worse and worse with each hit and I quit trying after getting some pure liquid on the tongue and just replaced the coil. That happened last night at about 5-6 pm, I replaced the coil when I got home from work at around 11pm, and I stayed up all night, not actually vaping that much, and after awhile, even that brand new coil i just put in just hours ago starts to flood (I assume its flooded with gurgling and liquid coming through) even with minimal useage. Now I got another fresh coil in there now, and so far so good. Could it have to do that I'm using a heavy liquid (I think) or have anything to do with the liquid I'm using? The unit works great when it decides to keep working and not flood. I'm just trying to save myself money on coils, I don't want to be going through them so quickly. Now I have a bunch of used coils, I was hoping I could get all of them working like new again, at least for as long as possible. So I'm looking at finding out what my options are for what to do with these used coils and to keep fresh coils I have running to work a long time. Also, I'm just currious as to why I'm having this issue at all with flooding..?? Any help? Thanks. By the way I'm now running a vision adjustable voltage battery with the EVOD.

ps: more information for you. I've noticed that the 1.8ohms coils I've got seem to be less prone to flooding and the other 2.5ohms coils I have seem to flood more easily. I could be imagining things, but usually my 1.8's last me longer. Also, what a good voltage to run with the 2.5 and 1.8 coils respectively? I guess that depends on what juice and nic level I'm using to get the right taste or how I actually take the hit. lol, I love vaping because I can mess with how I actually hit the unit, changing how the hits taste and what not.

You remind me of another question to ask. With this new battery, I can keep tightening and tightening, I feel like the thing is too tight when I screw it in till it stops completely, so I don't know what I should do, I feel like I shoulden't have it completely tightened on. Plus that way its difficult to get off every time. Thoughts on that? Main thing I wanna know is how to prevent this set up from flooding like it has been. Oh I just thought of something. If I were to have left it in direct sun light on a hot day, inside a small car, obviously its gunna be cooking after awhile. I think those conditions caused it to flood at least one of the times, but maybe that has nothing to do with it. I remember reading that these Kanger Evods have issues with pressure or something? Is that whats going on here?

edit: hell yeah man, I've heard good things about this set up, I was recommended it by someone on here, it does work good and I like it, but I want to save cashola, and I shouldn't have to be spending more then I should be on coils, even though they are relatively cheap. I'm about to go see the new movie Elysium, I hope its badass. When I get back I'll check the thread, hope some of yall experts can chime in to help 2 of us now :D

I had a problem with leaking and it turned out that I was overtightening the battery on the tank. I was told that to stop twisting the battery when I felt it seat into the tank... just finger tight. I'm told that overtightening the eGo batteries can damage them by pushing the pin at the top of the battery down far enough where it won't contact the bottom of the coil base.

Oh really, thanks for that tip man, yeah I figured it wasn't good to be tightening it fully, seemed wayy too tight. Well, I'm done with the movie now, by the way Elysium is my new favorite movie, I thought it was really well done. But nothing yet from you guys about my main issue with the coils. I guess what I'll do if noone contributes here would be to youtube search how to correctly dry burn these, maybe that will give them new life, so I don't have to go and order more coils. So far today, no flooding on this coil yet.

Did you get thse coils from FastTech? There have been complaints...

Ok, it sounds like those couple itty bitty tops wicks are under sized or maybe weren't in there to begin with? Have you pulled the tube and looked to see what's going on there? From my experience that piece of top wick is important. I'm using 100 VG and even then if I don't replace that top wick when cleaning too much liquid gets to the coil too fast. And then you have low vapor output and liquid spitting up the vent tube. There is such a thing as too much liquid getting to that coil too fast. I would check, and even if that top wick is there replace it with something slightly more substantial.

Ok, thanks for that tip. So I'm really just trying to use the full life of these coils I have, like 10 of them. What I'm hearing is that the top wick is the issue when it starts to flood. So where can I get replacement little tiny flavor wicks? Since I last replaced the coil, I think its lasted for 2 days now, longest a coil has lasted without having issues with taste or flooding. So I'm thinking if I keep running into flooding issues, I should look into getting replacement flavor wicks, and when taste becomes an issue, I suppose I should look into how to dry burn properly with my adjustable battery. I mean its not a huge deal if I do have to continually buy replacement coils, but I'm not all that rich, just looking to save some bucks. thanks for the advice though man! Let me know where I could get replacement wicks from an online source, maybe I'll place an order with them if I keep running into flooding issues. anyone else got ideas what could cause the flooding? Or is this my answer?

Applying TOO MUCH pressure on an o-ring can cause the ring to compress enough to start a leak (Don't ask me how I know this....I own several T3's.....!!:() Of course, when refilling, be sure to wipe down/out any residual liquid from the head and the battery threads/top that MAY have dripped in/onto these surfaces....
As a (general) rule....finger-tight SHOULD be sufficient to prevent leaks....UNLESS there's some other problem/damage (ie., plastic clearos don't last as long as glass, like the Protank 2 that uses Pyrex....!)
