Thanks again guys for the suggestions.

Atm im just running the kbox mini with the kanger sub mini. I havn't started building on it yet as the pre built .5 coils are ok for now till i have some more time, it does the job. Not sure why but rda's and dripping just really appeals to me. I haven't actually looked into rta's a great deal.

Before you go any further you need to spend some time learning how Ohm's law relates to vaping and coil building.

Dripping is an awesome vaping experience.
Thats why most RTAs claim to perform like a dripper.

You're good with the mod that you've got for now...unless you really want a mechanical. Not to say anything bad about mechs, but since you're starting out, having some sort of protection would be nice...also, you've already got it, so there's another plus.

Getting a RDA can be quite an experience. Head to a B&M and take a look at what's there. Talk to the employees and the customers and see what they're using. Not necessarily telling you to buy from there, but face to face is always better than over the web.

Start modest and simple. Single strand, single coils to start, and go from there as you figure out what you like, what your mod can handle, what your RDA is capable of, and how the experience and demands differ based on certain coils, different wires, separate techniques.

That's one of the things I like so much about vaping, is that it's so tailorable. What works for me, may not work for anybody else, and the key is to be ok with that.

All of the suggestions for RDAs here are good, each with their own quirks, but you won't know what you like or want until you try something for yourself. If you're nervous about actually building, I haven't been to a shop yet that didn't offer to setup a RDA upon purchase. At least a way to get you started while you continue your research. YouTube is good for most of it, but seeing it happen in person and being able to interface with someone who has experience is unbeatable...assuming they are also knowledgeable.

I drip exclusively and have 3 setups in front of me at the moment. Ranging from a Velocity with a quad coil setup on my Wud wrapped Sigelei 150W, a Big Boy RDA with a Staggered Fused Clapton setup on my DNA200 ERM+, and a Hubble II capped Mutation X V3 with dual twisted coil setup on my M16 Mechanical. I also like to play around with Alien and Arched Claptons, but there will be plenty of time for that as your knowledge base and journey continues.

Get to it and give it a try.

You're right. Drippers IMO always imparted better flavor than a tank. Not leaps and bounds but a notch better to be sure. I've done both RTAs and RDAs. For most of the last year I was exclusively on the Achilles RDA (have three of them). The flavor was just too good not to be using it all the time. Then I picked up the new Svoemesto Kayfun Mini V3 in February because I was a big fan of the KFL's. Truthfully, I was finding no drop off in flavor when I switched to the KM3. It truly is the best flavor RTA I have ever used. So now I am exclusively using the KM3. It is dripper quality with the advantages of a tank. Only tank that I can say this about.

Chips177 There's no universal wattage for dripping. Most of mine are set up to run anywhere from 20-30w. I also have quite a few that run on the 40-60 range. Your Kbox will do great until you decide to upgrade. It probably won't be because you have to, more likely that you'll want to. Get yourself a good, cheap, clone for your first one to figure out what you like. I personally prefer the Stumpy RDA because of it's versatility. Anything from Wotofo would be good because you can get an authentic for a relatively low price. I just ordered the Sapor due to its great reviews.

And I drip in the 8 watt range, so it's true there are RDAs for about anything you wish to do.
I'll also put a dripper on my 5 year old Mako, 4 year old Provari V2, or brammy new N Zonic, so your Kbox will work fine to start. Just start out as simple as you can & learn to drip.

I have about a two lifetime supply of A7/A7 minis, so that's probably what I will still be vaping after Trump destroys planet Earth. (best mtl drippers ever made)

I use tanks and drippers, but for flavor and sheer performance its hard to top a properly built dripper.

Thanks again guys for all the tips and suggestions!

Just an update to those who may be interested.. I went ahead and got myself a compvape 13 heavens 9 hells RDA and so far am very impressed with it although I have nothing to compare seeing as this is my first! As suggested i've kept to my mod I already had for the time being seeing as it works just fine. Maybe some time in the future ill give mechs ago.

I love the 4 post deck on this RDA. I went ahead and built a dual coil build with 26g kanthal and it came out just as I wanted, .4ohm. I was extrememly happy with the build, my coils came out very neat and all hotspots were gone after a little squeeze of each coil and they were heating and cooling perfectly. I watched a tutorial on some wicking tips and managed to wick it just right and so far after a couple days of non stop vaping on this I havn't had a single dry/ burnt hit. Really really pleased with how my first build went and am looking forward to getting into more complex builds and bettering my builds!

So glad I've finally gotten into dripping as the flavour and clouds are just on a different level to tank vaping. I deffinatley wont be putting the RDAs down anytime soon.

    Thanks again all

Right ON! you are off and running. :?)

There is a point, when you have put in the homework, and developed the skills, where it is just plain easier to use RDA`s.
