In disposables anyway. disposables are about minimizing confiscation cost, selling to kids, and being impossible to quit using. For long term use they’re less safe and dozens of times more expensive than rebuildables.
disposables do have an advantage with automatics. Auto switch’s like the one described are incredibly fragile, so disposing of them when they become contaminated and stop working is easy. A rebiuldable mod could do it, but it would require a disposable switch cartridge, and no one ever made one.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! You bring up some important points about disposables. While it’s true that they have downsides like potential safety concerns and higher long-term costs, they also offer unmatched convenience and ease of use. It’s interesting to think about how a rebuildable mod could incorporate some of these disposable features, such as the switch cartridge you mentioned. Perhaps future innovations could bridge these gaps. It’s crucial for manufacturers and regulators alike to address these issues to improve safety and accessibility for all users.

A switch cartridge would need to be generic like the 510 connector, so copyleft or something. anything proprietary will just die.
