Geekvape was founded in 2015, in these years it has made practically all types of vaping products, selling over 13 million pieces of mods and tanks worldwide. Part of this great success certainly goes to the Aegis model which with its reputation as an indestructible mod has now reached its umpteenth version. The new Aegis Solo III 3 is powered by a single 18650 battery. Aegis Solo III 3 Mod is equipped with IP68 Tri-proof certification, resistance to shock, water and dust. I don't think you will be able to find a device on the market like Aegis Solo III 3 Mod that together with these features (IP68) manages to combine the same high qualities of manageability and compactness.

► GeekVape Aegis Solo III 3 Mod; How it is made:
Sourcemore sent me the "silver" color during this test, in reality the only truly "silver" part is the removable front panel which is screwed to the body via four torx screws. The frame in this version instead takes on a matte color that perfectly matches the rubber and silicone parts that concern the handle and the cap that protects the charging port. The couplings between the various materials have maintained the high quality of the previous Aegis, GeekVape's effort was to further improve the finishes and every small detail.

► GeekVape Aegis Solo III 3 Mod; Smart Touch:
The back (Handle) is soft to the touch and thanks to the texture with transverse lines it also provides an excellent grip with the hand. The rubberized cover hides a "Smart Touch" sensor underneath it that can be deactivated in the menu. This sensor allows you to automatically unlock the fire button when you hold the Mod, while it should automatically exclude the Fire button when you put the mod in your pocket or bag. Unfortunately, this function does not prevent accidental activations, in fact the sensor is not able to distinguish the touch of the hand from contact with other surfaces. In the menu you can activate or deactivate the "Smart Touch" function, or you can activate the function to lock the adjustment keys but without blocking the Fire button. So when you put the mod in your pocket or bag the only solution to avoid activations is to turn off the Mod. On the front starting from the top there is the Fire button, the 0.96" screen and the plus and minus adjustment buttons. All these buttons are well integrated into the line of the Mod, in particular the Fire button transmits an excellent feeling with the fingers. The 0.96" color TFT display with adjustable brightness allows easy reading of the main vaping data.

► GeekVape Aegis Solo III 3 Mod; Operating Guide:
The AS 4.0 circuit powered by an external 18650 cell has a power range from 5 to 100W with an increase/decrease of 1W per click. To turn the mod on/off you need to click the Fire button 5 times, while to enter the menu you only need to press the Fire button 3 times. There are different sections inside the menu. By entering "Mode" you can select different vaping modes;
• Power: Classic delivery mode
• Smart: the chipset automatically adjusts the power based on the coil reading
• Boosting: With this configuration the power delivery is greater than the classic delivery
• Memory: Allows you to configure up to 5 different delivery settings in memory
• Eco: The circuit delivers less power for energy saving
• TC/TCR: Temperature control functions

In addition, the following setting options are present:
• Lock Setting: Activation/deactivation of the Smart Touch function or locking/unlocking of the keys.
• Puff reset
• Color: Choice of display color from black-white to blue, orange, purple, pink
• Brightness: Adjusts the display lighting
• About: Installed circuit version + reset to return to factory data

► GeekVape Aegis Solo III 3 Mod; 18650 Battery:
On the bottom the battery compartment is waterproof, the threads are good, but the cap is quite hard to unscrew, this is due to the waterproof characteristics that the device must respect, by lifting the handle integrated into the cap you can insert a tool to facilitate the operation. The battery compartment is marked on the bottom by the positive pole, the negative pole is printed inside the cap. Many are still fond of the 18650 cell, so GeekVape has thought of these users who require small Mods also in view of MTL use.

► GeekVape Aegis Solo III 3 Mod; Thread 510:
Aegis Solo III 3 Mod in the upper part houses a steel cup screwed to the mod via three torx screws, the cup remains slightly raised to avoid scratches to the paint when screwing an atomizer over it. The spring 510 pin has a sliding thread. The 2A charging port is protected by a large but effective rubber cap with a watertight seal. Personally, I always recharge with an external charger, I prefer to do so with any mod so as not to unnecessarily strain the circuit. That said, I always recommend everyone to use external chargers.

Aegis Solo III 3 Mod is distributed in the kit version together with its Zeus Sub Ohm atomizer, you can install atomizers up to 26mm in diameter without protrusions, but also small 22/24mm MTL atoms with a good aesthetic result thanks to the relatively small size of the Mod.

► GeekVape Aegis Solo III 3 Mod; Final conclusions:
This new version of the Aegis also surprises! It maintains all the best already seen on the previous versions, the chipset and the finishes in general are of a good level. The use of 18650 cells compared to 21700 cells allows a single-battery Mod to obtain more compact dimensions and this is always a positive factor when you want to use the device in MTL mode. However, with the IP68 characteristics of this Mod, the dimensions and weight are slightly larger than any classic 18650 Mod, but the portability remains excellent, thanks to the super ergonomic Aegis form factor that had already previously decreed the success of this family of devices. For the rest there is little to add ... This is an Aegis, a model imitated and envied by the competition, always desired and purchased by many Vapers in the world. GeekVape's quality is now recognized, this is a Mod that works very well, super protected and super resistant, so I can safely recommend it to everyone.

Nice review! I remember reviewing the original aegis back when geekvape was good to deal with. It’s too bad that they can’t seem to come out with an original design.

The design is almost identical to the previous one, there are some additional functions but I didn't like the touch lock.
