I'm sure that we've all been there. We've dated a person thinking early on that "this could be the one". But as time goes on, those adorable little idiosyncrasies of our new found "love" turn out to be quite annoying. That combined with other discoveries about our new "love" soon leave us wanting and wondering if the pain of continuing is truly worth the gain of a long-term relationship.

Well, that's where I'm now at with vaping my fellow V4L family members. Don't get me wrong as I'm thrilled that I've gone seven weeks without an analog, however, I must admit that I'm getting a little annoyed with vaping. Early on in my vaping dating, I loved playing with my new equipment and experimenting with flavors. But now that I'm settling in to a long-term relationship, these very things are starting to annoy me. I'm getting a little tired of constantly recharging batteries, searching for flavors, and then searching for even more flavors as I get tired of the old ones. And so on and so on - you get my drift.

Has anyone else gone through this phase or is it just me? Inquiring mind(s) want to know.

Simplify. I know what you mean.
Find your vaping 'nirvana' and stick with that. Simple liquids, Simple PV (that's why I like my Precise - all I have to do is charge the battery, not buy a whole new unit). Easy to use atty or carto's. Don't give up now!!!
Only thing I do is once a week clean the atty or two and cartos. That's it.

I haven't felt the same way as you are right now Tracker, but my former relationship with analogs was such an abusive one I'm glad to have divorced it ! The analogs I loved treated me badly, always controlling me and telling me what to do & when. My life revolved around my analogs. My new relationship with my vaping has given me so much more freedom. I'll do whatever it takes to stay in love with something that loves me back and won't do me the favor of killing me in return ♥ I'm at the point in my vaping relationship where I'm saying til death do us part ♥

Nice post Anita! I feel the same way. Tracker I hope you can get over this irritation with vaping and it becomes fun again. I do remember becoming frustrated when I first started but that was because i was using a 510 and constantly had to drip.
Like Nirvana said, simplifly. Have everything charged and ready to go and stick with favorite juices.Hope your relationship works out!

With cigarettes, we picked a brand and smoked that day in and day out for decades (maybe trying another brand occasionally or even switching, but you get what I'm saying).
With food, we don't eat the same thing day in and day out because we'd get burned out on that and want/need variety.

If these are to be a substitute for smoking, then after the novelty wears off, I'd pick a flavor or two and stick with it. It might get boring, but it isn't food. I'd have a few 'fun' flavors to have as a treat now and then, but basically stick with the 'all day vape'.

I do agree the charging can be tiresome. For me what's working is having 4+ batteries. Two come with me for the work day, one is on the charger, the other is on my desk already charged. When I get home, the work batteries go on the charger and I use the other two. I carry one of the two work bats in the PCC so there's the backup for charging if needed.
The only thing I see right now as a hassle is if I find myself out and about and the carts run out and I didn't bring enough spares. Its not like I can pop into any store and buy a "pack" like we could with smokes. Maybe some day these will be widely accepted and available, but til then I just have to be sure to bring enough along.

I have had that happen and its frustrating.I still have a bad vape day now and then. The best thing you can do to get through it is have plenty of stuff.Get some extra cartos in your fav flav and have a fresh new one to pop on.If charging batts is the issue get a mod that will last all day and charge overnight. You just have to figure out whats bugging you about it and fix it.Maybe your just looking for an excuse to give in?Think about it and solve the issue.Everything you do to improve your health is going to take some effort.

Hiya Tracker. Bet you have a lot of company around here. Seems like most smokers want something that looks & tastes like a cigarette. I still prefer the slim sleek form of the XL for now at least. I can see where many people transition to something that in no way resembles a cigarette in appearance. I may wait for a V4L mod, but you're right, I've been looking at what other people like & why. Battery longevity and the need to refill do seem to be the deciding factors.

is it all the *maintenance* that is bugging you? if so, then i get it!

someone told me i could break the habit of disgusting cigarettes and transition to smooth, clean vaping in a week....and i was all over it! i was a success!

but nobody told me i had to *CLEAN* batteries and use a sharp point to scrape the gunk out of the top posts....nobody mentioned that i would need to master the art of refilling the polyfill to a zen level of dampness....nobody mentioned BOILING out the cartos to completely clean out a flavor i didn't like. and last of all nobody mentioned the lifting of posts, the endless charging of batteries, and the time, money, and effort spent to organize and carry around my new gear.

but i've got it all mastered now! i love vaping again.

with cigarettes, all i had to do was light the end and drag.

keep it simple, stick with your favorites.

Jay.

The only issue I have is I haven't bought a drip-tip yet but I do drip so pulling the silicone plug every half hour to top off is slightly annoying. Otherwise it balances in favor of vaping. Don't have to go to the store, refill my Zippo (although I do miss playing with my Zippo,I could do tricks with it and stuff), pay too much for analogs only to see them on sale somewhere else, be in the rain, listen to my lover cough, etc.

Shop online, swap batts every once and a while, spend less, no more pinhole burns in fabric or bed sheets, etc.

I came to vaping after being a pipe smoker for many years.
Pipes take maintenance a few times a week so I thought vaping would be a breeze.

I have 4 times the gear I had while smoking and 10 times the maintenance. What started out as a simple way to feed a nicotine addiction turned into a hobby that takes time and effort I didn't plan on.

Will I go back? Not a chance!
I can sit in the living room and vape. I can vape while packing orders to ship with no worries of smoke oder and I have piles of flavors to switch to when one or six get old.

V4L batteries, 10440 batteries, 14500 batteries and the big guns 18650 3000mAh batteries that last me 5 days between charges. Lots to keep track of and more on the way:)
I'm only 5 weeks into this and have favorite mods and flavors but there are SO many more to try. Every time I walk into a store now I look at things and think, "I could get a battery in that, and that would last a day". I'm sure this will slow down or at least I hope it will as I follow my new mantra, "Don't look at the modders forum".

Hi Tracker, yep, I've had days like that. I find that having alot of variety works for me. When I'm in the mood to fuss around, then I use my Ego and attys and drip...Most of the time now though I use cartomizers and V4L - just to make it quick & easy.
I love vaping more than I ever liked smoking though - so I've been willing to tolerate the down sides and try to enjoy it as a Hobby as well as a cure for my addiction. Hang in there! Buy a new PV or try weird new flavors. You'll get over the hump! Best wishes!

One thing I have seen others try - up their nicotine content. If you are at the high end and can't raise your nicotine level, then try coffee - I've seen others who say vaping coffee flavor works for them. You're doing the right thing in reaching out because you'll find you have all the support in the world to get you over this bump in the road :)

I'm kind of feeling the hassles of the long term relationship, too, Tracker. All the stuff that I thought was fun in the beginning is starting to be a darned annoyance, when all I want to do is just vape. All the filling, cleaning, charging, and on, and on, with no end in sight.

But, like keyz said, I'm making excuses. Running out of cigarettes and having to dash out to the store, never having my lighter handy, having to go outside in the cold, none of that was exactly convenient, either.

What I have to do is focus on the positives of vaping, especially after last week's fling with the demon tobacco. I plan to simplify my vaping routine asap, buy more pre-filled cartomizers, even though I prefer liquids, use my PT more, and keep my batteries charged. I'm also going to buy a backup PT. Hopefully, I'll get over this soon.

yeah, I didn't get that memo either, lol. I have "bad vaping days" too, as Keyzy put it. Then I think about how AMAZINGGGG it is that I don't smoke anymore, and that makes it all worth it :)
