I honestly admire that you're able to be relaxed as you are about nicotine storage. I'm new to DIY, so perhaps that's why I'm inclined to be of the "better to be safe than sorry" school of thought.

I'm terribly concerned about protecting this nicotine inve$tment I've recently made and not comfortable with not doing all I can to protect it, even in the extreme. It's mental health insurance too- this way, if anything goes wrong, at least I tried. :D

Not really relaxed about it. As I said that 100 ml got behind two 3 inch rolls of tape and I was using out of 250ml bottles from Heartland. I sure wasn't going to throw it out without testing and it appeared to be just fine. Same goes for the 2 and a half gallons in the freezer. In 30 years, if it still works I will still use it.

Aha! I don't mind if it's scratched or dented at all and this was one I was looking at earlier today, so I must be on the right track. The price is right too. Thank you!
I did look at that one as well but as much as I was making it run around my head I couldn't justify buying something strictly for nic.

I'm the same way. If you can do it, thats great. But for my needs I can do without it. Knowing my luck my husband or son would put ice cream in it and lock each other out!

I spent my cash on what I needed to stock up on. I have 8,000ml of Nude Nic Armor v1/v2 and a dozen mods. I'll be grabbing another gallon of nic, another dozen mods and fully round out my DIY needs before I purchase any freezer.

A dedicated chest freezer is what I need. I've read that placing the nic inside of a Styrofoam container with lid will help keep the temp from wildly vacillating. Looking to obtain a commercial unit. Bottom drain. Locking unit.

Thanks to salemgold, that scratched or dented EdgeStar has my attention.

I had been considering this & the basic EdgeStar, but this is about 1/2 that basic price.

If you get one, please let us know how damaged it is. My only worry is that the scratch & dents carry no warranty & cannot be returned.

I went with a chest, cold air sinks so when you open it, the cold air doesn't spill out. I can't think of any reason why fluctuations in temp could possibly affect nic sealed in bottles. Larger bottles of nic on the bottom, will only need to get to them every six months to a year, smaller bottles are up top. Once we had the freezer, my wife started piling goodies in there, AOK with me, I'll dig through and get what I need down the road, I'm the cook so I am responsible for storage handling of all foodstuffs.

If the seal gets bad, a roll of stretch film will easily seal the lid till I can get some insulation tape strips, if the unit craps out or we loose power for an extended period, I can get blocks of dry ice locally, a block of dry ice will keep a small chest freezer for a few days to a week or more.

I plan on emptying the freezer into coolers about once a year to inventory the contents, and defrost and clean it. Not a big deal.

PS, I was spending about 3600$ a year on smokes, a less than 200$ freezer is chump change compared to that, and the ingredients that it is protecting, though only cost a couple hunnet dolla, is worth far far more than whatever it will cost to keep it cold ;)

Ohhhhhh now I'm gonna be racking my brain trying to remember who here bought this one. He posted the link several times but I don't recall the poster.

When Mike posted the link I followed it and purchased the freezer.
It did arrive with a small dent on the side - no biggie.
It also was missing the key for the lock. No big deal because I already have a locking freezer that came with two keys so I didn't make a stink about it because I had a spare key. All in all the freezer runs great. Very cold and no humidity accumulating. It was my understanding that I could return it in exchange for a replacement unit if the freezer didn't work upon arrival. I followed the included instructions and let the freezer sit for 24 hours after unboxing it and placing it in it's location prior to powering it on. I holds at least 6 liters. 5 full one liter bottles on the bottom and over a liter of 120ml stacked on top. The one liter bottles are slightly too tall to fit under the included shelf so I simply cut a piece of card board and laid it on top of the one liter bottles and use the card board as a shelf. Was a good purchase.
