My first batch of ecto is pretty good (50/50 12mg 20%). It's not super flavorful but it's a yummy warm tang type flavor so far. Only steeped 6 days so im hoping it will get better.

Anyways, im wondering.. I've read that if you add to much flavor it can actually cause it to be less flavorful. Id like more flavor but im not sure if i've already passed this point or not. Don't know if i should go lower or higher lol.

Anyone that has a lot of experience with this flavor got ay tips?

:)

12-14% is better for Ecto

Steeping doesn't really change it too much. Steeping just smooths it out a little bit, and maybe turns a bit more towards the "Tang-like" but other than that it's pretty much good to go a day after mixing.

Sounds like you went a bit high on the flavor to me. I've seen many users say 15% was way too high and caused a sharp exhale note, so I'm sure 20% is really overdoing it. I've used it at 10-14% and to me that seemed like a perfect range of weaker-to-strong for this flavor.

I've tried the juice premade from MBV with 2 flavor shots and thought it was a pretty strong citrus taste.

Usually with 20% I would say you over-shot but after reading MBV suggested usage of between 15%-40% I'm not so sure. If it was me, I'd get a dropper and add 10 drops of base (5 drops of PG and VG) then add 5 drops of flavoring 33% (or something like that so you don't waste too many supplies) and taste. You don't even have to add Nic for this test. Best I can think of atm. :vapor:

Cheers,
Steve

Edit I was typing as the 1st reply came in - seems like you over-shot then

I get no sharp note. Just a pleasant tang like flavor. Just want MOAR! hehe. Guess ill make 2 small batches .. 15% and 25%. :)

Thanks i might try that.

EDIT: two shots is what i was going for. I figured 15% plus 4% then added 1% for science.

You can get a good yet extremely light taste until the point it's way over the flavor limit. I sure wont be buying anymore FW since I had to doctor everything up. In fact Dr Pepper was the biggest let down since that one I really wanted to enjoy. It was totally muted until reaching the point of tasting like Dr Soap. And the Iced Tea I could just about drink the flavoring and never realize it was a concentrate.

I would try it at 12-15% and add about 1 drop of lemon juice per 3ml finished juice. This should help bring out the flavor a bit. Sometimes more isn't about adding more flavoring, but adding the right complimentary notes. Acid is one way to bring out the best in a lot of fruit flavors. Adding just a tiny bit of sweetener of some kind can also help.

I think those are Flavor West flavors, from my understanding that's what MVB uses. I'm assuming that it would probably apply to what ever company that makes that flavor though. I really think it has a lot to do with how high of a percentage the flavor is in your mix. Probably also the exact formulation of your particular tank. When in doubt, I use the Stainless section in my KFL+.

Cheers,
Steve
