Hey everyone, I just picked up a Hobo v2.1 and I couldn't be happier right now! Going from a Mutation X v3 to this was quite a jump flavor-wise imo. I like to throw out some clouds every once in a while, but I put flavor over clouds personally and this bad boy is giving me some great flavor so far!

With that said, I absolutely 100% know that I can get even better flavor out of the Hobo. I know a few changes I'm going to already try out probably some time today (for instance: when I first got it, I was too excited and instead of researching and learning that many people suggest dual horizontal coils set at a 45 degree angle offset to the right on each side respectively, I just slapped dual verts in there lol :p) but I wanted to see if anyone had some other suggestions or tips for good flavor-chasing builds (dual/single coil, less/more wick, airflow settings, etc.).

So, any fellow Hobo-ers out there have some advice for me?

what kind of coils do you make?

I haven't found better flavor so than with tiger coils and Clapton coils

I cannot fathom how people still use regular wrapped kanthal coils

    even regular twisted

Well I do for one, and I get almost to much flavor. But I can't comment on how to get the best flavor from a Hobo because I don't own one.

I have mine built with 2.4mm 5/4 wrap 24 gauge verticals atm. Finally a build that won't shove juice in my mouth. Tried horizontal, tried angled, tried big, tried little, tried twisted, etc. Flavor on the twisted build was slightly better, but doesn't fit how I vape due to the juice ingress to my mouth hole. I'll probably put a twisted 26 vert build in it in a few days just to have a play with it.

but it's all relative isn't it?

like, you're comparing your tried-n-true coil with your wicking material against different RDAs (most likely same build)

And that's the point. AFR & coil temp are what control flavor. The trick is finding the coil/wick configuration that will produce the IDEAL AFR & coil temp in that specific RDA.
