Firing Pin in Evod Twist battery came out

my evod twist vv battery was working fine for 3 days... then it stopped activating my tanks and would not charge. i did some research and found that the firing pin being pushed down is a big issue. when i tried to pull it out to make a better connection, it came out of the battery entirely. is there any way to restore this connection between the battery and firing pin? i just got off smoking and dont want my battery broken long enough for me to give into a urge of a cigarette. p.s. this was ordered from fasttech. PLEASE HELP

Many people will use the cig-likes in gas stations or pharms until their replacement equipment arrives. Preferably 2 of everything.?

I have some doubts that can be repaired unless you're pretty experienced soldering small electronics, I could be wrong though. Other than that. As r77r7r says, get two replacements. Backups, then backups for the backups.

Havin' a hard time picturing you with a pipe, lol.

I presume you mean the 510 connector center contact. If there's still a wire attached, shove it back in, otherwise it will need to be resoldered... If, when pressing the button (even now) it flashes immediately, it's uncharged. Some of these batteries can be weird to get to charge, and can respond differently to almost identical charger units. I use a specific one with my Spinner and still have to mess with it until it works (charger LED red showing charge).

Hello simonton, I hope you get it fixed, should just be soldering the wire to the positive pin? I 've been in a few ego-type soldering wires that I damaged by my abuse, but never a evod-type.

Back in 2012 when most everyone was using mid-size batteries, this bad advice of "pull/ lift the pin" was going around fairly often.

I've never touched the positive pin on any of my batteries. The few times that I have had lack-of- contact, was easily corrected with a 510 to ego adapter or slight movement on the post of the "topper". Good luck

Yes, IF it's a manufacturing defect, that's the first option. But if I start tampering with it then I think that option goes away. But, who knows, maybe tell Fasttech the truth and they just might send a battery.

Just remembered. I never did this with the mid-size batts, but I did use this o-ring under the positive pin on my Legacy to raise it a little and it works well.
