FastTech shipping , What to expect ?

Hi All , I ordered a Vamo and some tanks from fasttech on Aug 5th. Today I received an email that said my order would be changed to 2 orders and the Vamo would not be shipped with the other stuff. Suggested reasons for this was perhaps it didn't pass QC test, the vendor didn't have it @ this time, etc. Today is Aug 10 . So far I haven't actually been told ANY of my order has been shipped yet. I think that the delay (5 days) in even beginning to start shipping is a bit much. Has anyone had a similar experience ?? This will (eventually) be my first overseas buy. I am beginning to think maybe I should have paid more for a U.S. supplier. Any comments would be deeply appreciated .

My experience was about 5 days from when it changed to "Shipped" status. If they are waiting on an item to come in stock, they will delay the order.

My experience was almost identical, my order showed all items except for 1 "ready to ship", and it took about 10 days total. Depending on how much money you're saving, it's your decision to stay with them, but it's not unusual.

I'm extremely pleased with my experience personally.

If you go over to the General Discussion forum, you will find a 400+ page thread on Fast Tech, its products, shipping, etc.

Lots of good information there.

You can also check the status/potential shipping time of any stuff you order in your account at FT, at Your Orders. Lots of info there. When you order anything, it is always a good idea to check out the shipping time in the product description.

My experience with FT is that if they feel the non-availability of one item is going to hold up your whole order for quite a while, they will split your order and send what is ready.

I've always thought this was really good business practice on their part.

I had a Fasttech order come in 2 shipments. It was for a SS Vamo & a upgraded Nitecore I4 charger. Not sure if they were out of stock on the charger.
They sent the Vamo then the charger came about 2-3 days later.
That means they want to get it out to you ASAP. I didn't mind the 2-3 day wait at all. Although I was worried it was gonna take a while longer.
FT takes care of business. I was surprised they didn't just wait to get in all in stock & then ship it. Thumbs up for FT.

I recently ordered the Panasonic 3400 mAh 18650's and some jade drip tips. Apparently, they are sending the batteries first and the drip tips later. Maybe its a stocking thing. From everything I've read on ECF, Fasttech does a good reputable business.

Also, for what it's worth, Fasttech is based out of Hong Kong, not mainland China. Hong Kong was, of course, owned by the British for 99 or 100 years, before it reverted recently back to China. I have a good friend at work who is from Hong Kong, and he assures me that they love the Brits and the Yanks and aren't so keen on mainland China, at least politically speaking. I consider this another plus for Fasttech. I have "no reservations" (thanks Anthony Bourdain) in doing business with Fasttech. JD

I've only ordered once, so not statistically significant, but i can't complain. It said it was going to be held for 3 days waiting for a couple of items, but then ended up shipping early by a day, took a day or two to get to San Francisco, then took 4 frickin' days to cross the US. That's right - got shipped through China and across the ocean faster than it cleared Customs and got across country. So, yeah, I'm on par with MochaNinja, but then again, I'm only about 2 hours away, so it should be similar.

I ordered a K101 and an Igo-L on the 12th. FT didn't provide any shipping information for about 3 days. Finally, they sent out the Igo-L and I just received that yesterday (the 22nd). The K101 has just come thru San Francisco and I expect it to be here within 3 business days since that's how long it took for the Igo-L to make it through. As others have said, I can't really knock FT because their prices and free shipping are awesome. Now I know depending on how fast I need something, I may just pay the extra convenience fee.
