They are not fake. We get them from the exact same place as every vape shop in Canda pretty much "Pacific Smoke International" there is a lot of crappy and or old information on the web about batteries.
We sell a couple hundred a month, buy them in lots of 500 and are the first person to have this claim in several years in which the last claim they were fake was also false.

41gms is pretty low.
Check if you can see “30Q” as part of the top line of printing near the top of the metal can (not the pink wrap). That can help authenticate the cells.

yes it does say R30Q
I notice there is no "button" under the top and the way its crimped at the top looks totally different.
Also no warning in the wrap.
I guess canvape burned me.

Ok so I test 2 so far and 1 old 30Q that I used for the past 2 or 3 years and was used 2 or 3 years in the drill battery pack before the neighbour gave it to me.
Lets look at the used battery doomed for the trash, it has the SPOT WELDS on it on the left
after being fully charged, the old battery made 2648Mah on the DISCHARGE test not bad

Here are 2 more batteries. I'm using 2 channels of the tester now. CH1 is battery marked 1 and CH2 is battery marked number 3
so battery "number 1" tests at 2506mah and "number 3" in CH2 tests at 2246mah.

Okay, time to carefully unwrap and see if they are actually 30Q’s or not. Use a magnifier and check every little detail. If the top insulating ring is self adhesive in the new cells then they are fakes…period.

So far the real samsung drill battery thats been going for years beats every 1 of these new "30Qs"

I tested another battery I've had since 2021. It has been used heavily but still tested better than all the others I tested. I think its a Panasonic NCR18650B

OK well it seems Pacific smoke has fake samsungs and Canvape refunded me for them after they investigated.
So Canvape and Tom are loyal to their customers which makes me happy.
He said to watch out everywhere as this issue runs pretty deep and the supplier did not want to deal with this.

If you’d like, send me one of the fakes and I’ll examine and test it and document the results. I can then contact Pacific Smoke to make sure they’re doing the right thing. They’ll need to examine all of the different brands/models of cells they carry. IMO if they are getting fake 30Q’s from their supplier then they are probably getting fakes of other cells too. Just purely my personal opinion here though.
