Face and skin care after quitting analogs

I was looking at some pics of web I first started smoking 6 years ago at the age of 16. I noticed my skin was much more vibrant . I didn't look like the zombie I look like everyday with baggy eyes and red eye lids . My skin is much more bland too . Whats worse is I felt as bad as I look. It's now about 2 weeks of no analog and I know the skin benefits don't come right away but I want to take advantage of this benefit and probably look into some men facial creams and regimens . Anyone follow a plan whether it be male or female when they quit smoking to get faster and better skin?

Lack of oxygen/circulation from smoking can cause skin problems. Drink plenty of fluids, exercise and find a good moisturizer. I like all natural products, even more so now that I no longer smoke because I want to avoid chemicals not only in cigarettes but in lotions and cremes too.

I am actually in the process of making my own skin care products from shea butter, coconut oil, calendula, avocado oil, and a few other essential oils, but I doubt if you want to go that route. I just read an article about the benefits of plain coconut oil for the skin. You can read more about it here:

I'm 65, smoked for over 45 years and can easily pass for a 50 year old guy .. as odd as some may think this sounds, almonds and walnuts are a regular part of my eating habits .. and my doctor says that has been the key to keeping by skin good ..

and no, I don't work for the nut cartel ..

haha lol, gonna get something like the nivia care for men and buy some fish oil tablets. Today was just terrible i woke up after 7 hours of sleep (i need 10-11 hours as an analog smoker) still do for now till i feel better from quitting smoking, and i my left eye was red for the whole day. After my evening workout my eyes and skin around my eyes were all irritated and rubbing them made them look even worse. I look in the mirror before bed and it looks like I have 2 black eyes. Ugh

Try exfoliating to get the circulation going, clear pores and give your skin a glow. Use a commercial product or a little coarse salt wrapped in cheesecloth.

Don't underestimate the power of the mud pack/face mask either. They are reasonably priced and your skin feels great after using them. Most have nourishing agents in them and you can buy them in individual sachets. Not a good idea to try them if you are expecting friends to come around though!

On the other side of the coin here.... ( and for others in the same boat who might come across this thread) some people's skin can become very sensitive. When I first started vaping about 2 weeks in I was all "Wow, my skin has improved" then... well.. heh.. Ya, not so much. For about 5 months my skin was going nuts. What seemed to be happening is all the stored toxins, chemicals where finding a way out though the pores of my skin. It was terrible. Within the last month maybe my skin has gone back to "normal".

If you find yourself in the "ultra sensitive skin" boat my advice is stick with cheap, gentle products with as few ingredients as possible. You may want to avoid Sailyic Acid( a very common acne fighting medication in most face washes) as it can aggravate the skin more when it's so sensitive. When my skin started to get bad I found that my typical face washes weren't helping me anymore. I had to switch my skin care routine completely around. I personally stocked up on Basis Sensitive Skin Bar with no SA and camomile. I also used witch hazel for toner. It defiantly helped to calm the skin but the detox process was trying to say the least. If you smoked a pack a day for over 5 years hey, that's a lot of built up chemicals in your body that have to come out. It sucks, but after going though all that because of smoking.... I'll never be a smoker again... pffft no, I'm not going though all that hell again lol.
