Your coil is shorted. On most egos 3 flashes indicates a short. Some Kanger coils do come DOA but not too often. MAke sure you have no juice in the batt and try a new coil head. You can also look at the base of the coil where the contact point is and see if the coil wires are sticking out and if they are just clip them off with some nail clippers (rare mistake but does happen at the factory). IF you got it at at local B&M shop take it back. Kanger is warranting all DOA coils now.

It is a short just as Ca Ike said, check the following areas in the picture provided and make sure the wire is clipped as close as possible to the rubber and metal pin then try again.

It's a short. You can try unscrewing and screwing the coil back into the base, but if the behavior continues don't push it. Right now your battery is just giving a warning something is wrong with the EVOD. Keep hitting the fire button with a shorted device and the protection can pop, rendering the battery useless.

Thanks for this warning. I haven't had this problem with my evod coils and my ego, but will know what not to do if it happens.:)

Hey Bugga

eGo's are still built with the "less safe" chemistry batteries. To keep everything safe the protection circuit in there has a low tolerance for fault conditions like a short. They are designed - on purpose even - to just blow the circuit and stop delivering voltage to a shorted device when pushed, rather than risk the battery being exposed to a short for any length of time that could do damage. That's why if you get those 3 flash, no vape situations figure out what's wrong with the device and fix it. Once the protection circuit has been permanently blown it's just a non working battery and can't be reset. Curse at the dead eGo all you want - it stopped a battery vent from happening.
