Hi Folks -- enjoying the evods, question about clean/dry burn procedure. My first two efforts on doing this -- the first several to half-dozen hits after reassembly taste somewhat burnt, tasting somewhat of the odor of the smoke that comes off the coil when dryburning. It does go a way or at least lessen a lot.

So is this typical, or does it indicate that a) did not clean well b) did not dry burn sufficiently/enough times or c) coil has really had it and I should be replacing.

__

I'm using these as my out and abouts, transitioning from glass carto tanks which I like but ... bcc so much easier and portable for mobile. Have a davide glass on the way and may just go bcc all the way if I like it, though I have a ton of carto tank gear on hand for backup. Thaks for any feedback and, yes, I popped off about hard core veterans posting too high-level advice here in the new members forum, so if that irritated y'all I humbly grovel for your understanding and feedback.

(bump) tasting fine now. I'm assuming the clean /dry coil post dry-burn just needed to get soaked. I dabbed a drop on either side of the wick where it extends outside the metal cup, but maybe I should have dropped a drop or two directly onto the coil. Or might that have started me out in a flooded state
A few juice dabs on the wick after a clean and dry burn - fill and assemble - wait about 10 minutes for the wicks to fully saturate. Sometimes a few light pulls without hitting the fire button will "prime" the wicks a bit faster... if you're in a hurry. And yes, dripping down the tube can create a bit of a flooded condition for a while... so not a great idea.

As many ways to clean, liquids to use, methods of drying as there are... ECF members perhaps? I tend to rattle off my ways and methods as though they're something special, when in point of fact... they're not, just wash, rinse and dry. Duh. ;-)
You'll figure out ways to do things based on your learning experience and the practical resources you have available to you. Simple as that.

Thanks Gents. Re-rinsing after DB is something I never did/thought of. You guys just paper towel it after rinse or do you do a long drying process?

I put the head back together after doing a dry burn, then rinse it for a while under hot water. I then dry off the outside of the head with a paper towel, and finally I hold the paper towel against each end of the wick for a few minutes to suck some of that moisture out.

After that I fill it, let the tank sit upright for 10 or 15 minutes, and vape away.
