Hi guys I just got an atom battery and a new atomiser for my EVO, the atom battery when charging with my mains cahrger the red charging light fades away but no green light!! Is this normal? My bigger genie batteries always show green light when finished, the battery appears to have got a charge and the charger once again shows green light when charging the normal batteries.

Also the threat of both atomiser and battery is silver instead of gold hehe!!

when i first got my 2 black evos. neither of the batteries were charged. after a very quick 10 min usb charge, one battery ran for around 8 hours and the other just 2 min. john asked me to put the 2 min battery on the charger for 4 hours and it should kick it up to full operation. after charging the second battery now lasts for only 2 hours. i am sure john will replace it for me. i will charge it a few more times before i hit him up for a new one. john also sent me extra white evo atomizer with my order. thanks john.

Yeah, have the same here for 2 of my Evo batteries, one genie and one atom, at first thought the mains charger had died on me but the green light eventually came on, took a few minutes though. The USB chargers are very quick for charging however if you read the threads on battery maintenance they recommend a slow charge to maximise battery life. Now that the mains starter pack has disappeared from the site it does make me wonder whether they are hoping for a quicker turnover of batteries via USB.

Worth noting is the new silver thread needs cleaning more often than the brass(?) especially after charging via USB.

Strange, when I smoked analogues I would never roll them, couldn't stand the fuss, too tight, too loose etc etc. If I did not feel so much better for using the ecig and getting off the tobacco I really couldn't be bothered with all the fussing around just to keep them working properly. :D

How long should it take for a new battery to charge (USB)? The instructions say one to two hours, and the first battery I put to charge was on nearly 3 and the light never came on (except for the 4 or 5 blinks when I hooked it up).

I'm going to try and charge the second and see what happens.

Hrmm, could I have torched one of my batteries by putting it on to charge when it comes shipped fully charged? Which I just now realized....

EDIT: Okay, so, the cutoff, WTF?

The EVOlution has a safety cutout feature programmed into its microprocessor. Sucking on the EVO for 5 seconds or more will activate the cutout which switches the unit off for 2 minutes.
I know I read about it when I ordered the unit almost a month ago, but how much of a pain in the ... is that? I guess I'll get used to it, but I already still love my generic penstyle much more.

I have exactly the same problem with 2 new batteries. One Atom, one Genie. The USB charger makes the light flash 5 times and then nothing. Even left overnight. And that's both batteries.

Is this right or should I be asking John about it?
Thanks

When you say "and then nothing" do you mean that the batteries have not charged? With my usb charger the batteries flash 5 times then go dark. 20-30 mins later the light on the battery tip lights up to show that they are charged. If this doesn't happen test the batteries with cart and atomiser - if no vape then I would certainly have a chat with John, who's very helpful. :)

Same thing here. Left one of mine on to charge last night after it lost juice, and this morning, no light at all. It does seem to have a charge, though.

See this thread over here:

Hope it helps...

Thanks, I've tried both Laptop and mains USB, same thing.
I have to admit to not actually having run either battery down to flat yet though, so maybe that's where the problem is! Obviously at the moment both work, I'll just have to wait until one goes flat and then try again.

I haven't totally taken to the world of vaping yet - the vapour hit isn't the same as smoke and therefore hits my throat and lungs different and I'm not sure I like it. I'm asthmatic (that's why I want to stop smoking) and the different feeling makes me worse than a normal cig does! It's probably just what I'm used to and I will persevere for a while, but at the moment I'm trying to prepare for quitting altogether. But I do love smoking and that's why I struggle to quit - I've been a light smoker for about 15 years (between 4-10 a day max, depending on whether I'm at the pub with friends) and although it's so few, those that I do have I really enjoy.

I do find that the EVOs take absolutely ages to charge even with the USB powered from the mains - but then again, they last a lot longer than other batteries so it's all relative I suppose.

You do have to persevere with the e-cigs a bit at the beginning. I was somewhat disappointed at the start (not helped by the exaggerated claims from the sellers it has to be said) but now I'm starting to think that I prefer them over analogs (I love being able to snatch a few quick puffs in the kitchen at work whilst making coffee!) I'm afraid to have a real one just in case I say to myself "oh God, that's fantastic"

Good luck!

Not sure what is going on with the USB charging... everybody raves about the super fast charge rate (like 20 mins or something).

I just bought a USB charger (was using the mains charger) & run it from a 2000mAh mains unit (direct into the mains - no computer at all).

From flat my genie batteries take anything from 2 - 4 hrs to charge (tip lights up) and my atom batteries take a similar time before the tip lights up.

I've tried using several different powered hubs & also direct into the computer with the same result - obviously very dissapointing given that there is so much speak of these mega fast charges using the USB adaptor.

So what is going on? Different types of USB charger out there? Mine is direct from Intellicig in the UK this week & using relatively new (or even brand new) batteries.

Wish I knew - really would like the convenience of a fast charger, even if it does reduce the life of the battery eventually.

im still having the same issues, i plug the usb charger in, screw in the battery, it flashes 5 times, then it stays unlit. Strange thing is it has lit up at the end only a couple of times, but the rest of the time im not convinced its getting a full charge through to the battery. Luckly ive also got a mains charger i got with the mirage which also fits the evo batteries, so ive been using that. Ive read referance on here that some newer pc's cut off power to the usb when there is no longer a draw from them, but im wondering if its possible that the draw isnt enough to register in the first place and so the battery doesnt even begin to charge? im trying a usb hub at the moment which has leds on it, so i know theres power going to it, ill wait and see if this works.
