Yzer is correct, all voltage measurements were taken with the battery outside of the vaporizer. And to be clear, the battery sitting in the vaporizer for 8 hours does drain the battery. Sitting outside of the vaporizer for 8 hours does not drain the battery. The only thing I can think of is some internal short in the switch or in the tube that is slowing draining the battery, yet not putting that power through where the cartomizer connects. Unless it is some really weird thing with the batteries. I got the IMRs in the mail today. I will try the same experiment this weekend, and report back.

Thanks for all the help guys!

Glad to help. I want to find out what was causing this issue.

Some sort of low power drain getting through the switch? I usually check voltage on my DMM in the 20VDC position. Maybe using a lower DC voltage setting will make this leak appear?

I wonder if batteries with defective protection circuits could be a cause?

Anyway, looking forward to seeing the results with a new set of batteries. Those generic IMRs from the vendor look interesting.

I got the new switch from sweet vapes. Everything is better now. I used to go through batteries faster than I thought I should. I only vape moderately. Sure enough, they last longer now.

BTW the switch I got is the newest generation (the one rob described as the 4th generation). It is blue and can turn on/off with 5 clicks.

Thanks everyone!
