I accidentally locked the up and down buttons by pressing both of them simultaneously for 2 seconds, I have tried unlocking them by doing the same thing like the instruction manual calls for. It doesn’t work, no “unlock” pops up or anything. You can hold them as long as you like and...nothing.

I have since figured something might be wrong with it as I am almost positive I’m doing it correctly. Now I have tried getting the reset button to work in hopes of the up and down buttons being unlocked upon reset. I hold the reset button for 5 seconds and I’ve tried the method of the combo with the fire button and reset as well as the up arrow and reset and the screen goes blank and turns back on but never says reset and the settings are still the same as before.

My next idea is plugging it into my computer in hopes of an update fixing this but other than that I am out of ideas. The device is stuck on 20 watts which is too high for the cartridge I’ve got on it. Does anybody have any ideas, please help me out.

Hi Jake and welcome,
If the buttons are not functioning correctly, it may be the beginning of the end for your unit.
You could try the firmware update and it may work.
The weak point of the unit is the USB port, which is know to be rather fragile.

Sorry I don't have better news for you.

Cheers

ETA: Here is link to an alternative firmware to try if the eleaf release fails to resolve the problem.
IMO, it is a superior firmware and have installed it on all my J/E/W compatible devices.

For the link you sent, should I download both the NFE tools and the ArcticFox? And is there any special way to install on device? Or just plug into computer wirh micro usb and install?

Yes, both.
If the device is not recognized, you may need to use a different USB cable. (as noted above)

The NFE tools are the program interface and "articfox" is the actual firmware for the device.
Launch the toolbox.exe and use the dialogs to install and configure the .bin file.

@JakeO, I just happened to find a video where a vape shop owner had the same problem and found a way to unlock the iStick Power mod. It looks like Eleaf dropped the ball on programming and you have to hit both buttons at exactly the same time or the mod won't sense the button presses as an unlock sequence. He uses a pair of scissors to push both buttons at exactly the same time and it works repeatedly.

Once you get it unlocked you might want to try upgrading the firmware. Maybe they have fixed it in a later upgrade. The sensing tolerance in the firmware is apparently too tight to sense millisecond differences in the dual button press routine.

Also, one of the comments on that video provides a possible solution if the solution in the video does not work...

"Anyone having this issue try pressing outer edges of buttons. I tried 1000 times and and still locked out, then tried pressing out edges and it now works, no longer locked out. It may not work but it's worth a try."
