Ego Twist VV flavor

I have 5 808 threaded (halo g6) batteries and recently got 2 kanger evods and an 650 ego. I like the idea of cleaning and refilling tanks with new replacement coils better than using 808 clearos until they conk out and have to buy more. I am using the evod tanks with the metal casing and slit on the side to see the juice. Also got a protank2 (glass). The flavor is good with these tanks, but I notice a few juices still taste better on the 808 batteries (although less clouds). If I got an ego twist with the variable volt feature, would this allow me to change it so that the flavor tastes like the less powerful 808's? It seems to me like some juices need more power and others less to get the best flavor. Will the twist accomplish this for me? As you can tell, I am new. Appreciate any and all help

Variable voltage (such as from a twist) does let you "tune" the warmth, thought you'll also get some variability due to coil placement/tube length. You're absolutely right that some liquids may taste better at a different total voltage/power, for any one person; tastes vary a lot, from person to person.

The twist is a neat, affordable, VV, I keep one as a backup in my car.

Flavor is related to wattage. Light flavors can be washed out/diminished by more wattage. Strong flavors may need more wattage to bring out the flavor.

You can change wattage two ways. By varying voltage of the battery, or by changing resistance in the coils you use.

Do you know what ohms the evod coils are rated at? Depending on the flavor, they could be either too high or too low.

Figure out what wattage you were at with the 800 halo G6 and then find what coil for the eGo would be the same. Use this:

If it is a light flavor, then using a higher ohm coil with the eGo may increase flavor.

If it is a strong flavor, then using a lower ohm coil with the eGo may increase flavor.

Kanger coils run at 1.5, 1.8, 2.2 and 2.4-2.6 ohms. Find out which you have been using and use another replacement coil according to what flavor you're vaping.

Thanks guys. The chart should be very helpful. I see that I not only have to use the dial on the ego twist, I will have to concern myself with the coil type as well. Now, if only they made a coil with a dial you can adjust as well, I would be all set, lol. I need a double twist.....dial a voltage, then dial a watt, hehe.

I know these guys are way more pro then me but, I was also under the impression that SOME people prefer the flavor of a carto in general over tanks and attys. With my twist I prefered the 2.0 kanger coils and adjusted voltage to the flavor. That is until I started wrapping my own kanger coils. Then I used 30 ga kanthal wrapped 5 times around 2mm wick and a second piece of 2mm wick on top of that for flavor wick. Then I could turn Up the twist and really get good hot vapor. I also used the Evod and the T3s btw.

Actually it's one or the other - although you can do both. If you have a fix ohm coil - say 1.8 ohm, then with the Twist, you can vary the voltage to taste. Same if you had a 2.2 ohm coil except you wouldn't be using as much voltage to get the same taste.

If you have a fixed voltage eGo - either a regulated battery like the Joye eGo at 3.4 Volts or an unregulated battery at 3.7 Volts, then you can change coils to get the flavor you want. It's easier with the VV batt but because of the extra circuitry for a VV battery, you have the extra length as well. I prefer the smaller form of the regular eGo batt and I have 1.8 ohm coils for my stronger flavors and 2.2 ohm coils for the lighter flavors.

Thanks Kent. I can see your point about the smaller battery. I guess when I get enough tanks, I can have some with different ohm coils in them. I think the vv would be a good way to determine if a juice needs more ohms or less, then I could pick the right coil for a reg battery. Right now I have a ton of clearo's and tanks filled with different juices I just switch off. I guess I should label them now not only with the name of the flavor, but get used to adding the coil ohm as well. hmmm...

Starting vaping is a learning experience, figuring out what flavors you like, at what total power. Over time it gets simpler, especially when our taste settles down (I went for about 6 months with fairly significant changes in what eliquids I liked, then at about 8 months ended up with one single all day vape that I've used since).

If you get an Innokin iTaste VV 3 instead of the eGo-C Twist, you can have it all--and you don't have to mess with what ohms the coil is. Set the wattage and forget it. I started with and still use my Twists daily but have now added an iTaste VV 3 to my stash. My only complaint so far is they are only available in 800 mah but they can be used as a pass-thru so you can charge while vaping as long as you're not chain vaping and drawing out more power than it's receiving. The cost is only slightly more than an eGo-C Twist plus you get Variable Wattage, an ohms checker and a puff counter. Here's where I got mine:

All the new Innokin products have 510/eGo threading, so you can use any atty/clearo/carto that you desire. Some of the old ones only had 510 threads, such as the iTaste VV 2.0, so you couldn't use an EVOD or Protank Mini, but you could use a regular Protank. When they revamped the iTaste and came out with the 3.0, it had eGo threading as well, so it worked with everything without needing an adapter.
