First of all, I regularly use an ego with a lr atty, drip tip, and a mix of about 60/40 vg to pg.

Now for the tank. I was talked into it and regret buying it because I'm used to having a large cloud of vapor when I exhale.... This is possibly the worst 'upgrade' I've purchased. The vapor is dismal at best and the draw is tough, you almost have to inhale till you pass out to get a decent puff. The idea is phenomenal and revolutionary but the execution is rushed, poorly tested and in general terrible. I got the low res version of the tank and couldn't believe it barely compared to a regular 510 atty. DO NOT BUY THIS MOD. It is all genuine joye but not at their same level of quality I've come to know. I'm certain it is nice for some people who want something they can toss in their pocket and not worry about any leaking or dripping onto the battery(the bottom of the atomizer is sealed.) If anyone has some tips or information on how they got theirs to work decently let me know because I feel that I've wasted another 30 bucks. As well I ordered 4 lr 510 atty's and the website did not say they were the tank version. These 510 low res tank versions are all terrible as well and are certainly not 1.5 ohms as described. The vapor production is so low that it is about on par with a regular classic 510 atty. All in all do not buy anything that has to do with this new tank version it will only disappoint you. With that being said anyone interested in all this tank stuff let me know :p

I didn't care for the ego tank. Found it leaked and the attys just didn't stand up for too long. Didn't have a vapour problem with them at first but the production did fall off rapidly. I don't think I will buy any more.

The 510 tanks. I just received two last week. Great vapour and they are sr. Problem is one died after 4 days. Interesting thing is it was a leaker. The other one is still fine and doesn't leak and is great for vapour. I am undecided if I will get more tank attys. I will see how long this one lasts. I am sure the first one was just a fluke.

I have used the Joye cone and mega tanks extensively and found the flavor good and the vapor much better than a standard 510 atty. Some tank attys don't wick well, but you can fix that by removing that piercing plate, washing the wick and coil in hot water, and reinstalling the wick with the retainer cap even with the lower edge of the slant on the piercing tube. The piercing plate goes in easily if you install it on an empty cartridge and then install the cart in the atty barrel. A couple of slight taps will seat it.

It's a lot less work than it sounds. I posted the video from Vicki at Cignot ® below. If you get it adjusted correctly, the vape experience is very good.

I finally gave up and moved back to a 306 atty with a drip tip and Boge 510 cartos. They are less trouble, better flavor, and as good or better vapor production.

Wow! Not sure what is going on here. There is a slight diminished flavour using the tanks but other than that I am quite pleased with my purchase. I had to cleam my atty after 9 days (back in March) and have not cleaned it since. I vape them daily and I am totally satisfied with it.

Have to say I agree with the OP, as that was pretty much my experience with tanks, too. Poor vapor, poor TH, poor flavor, fiddly wicks and found I had to blow them out frequently and clean the things every day or two or they'd just get clogged up beyond usability. They were a great idea -- that is indeed why I tried so hard to like them and went through 7 A-type and 4 B-type tank atties hoping something would work, but nothing ever did to anywhere near my satisfaction.

I love the tank when it works properly, but the inconsistency has finally turned me off. I have like 4-5 tank atties that still work, but the draw is tight as hell on some, and the vapor production sucks on all of them. They also take like a week to recover from cleaning.

They are just too much hassle, which is a shame cause they kick ... when they are in their prime. I bought a B-type tank to see if they are any better, and it leaked like an SOB. 2 mLs worth of liquid just drains right out of it... lame.

On Sept. 11 I celebrated 4 months of vaping and no analogs. I have only used an Ego T, and it has been very good for me. I must admit that the attys at first were a pain so I ordered an A2 T from Germany, which came with glass fiber wicking and small stainless steel screens to rebuild the A2 T when necessary. I had 2 attys that tasted burned so I was not using them. On a lark I decided to use the wicking from the A2 T and the screens to put new wicks in the Ego attys. Guess what, they work better then they did when I first got them on May 11, 2011. Give it a try, you won't believe how well they vape with these wicks!

Out of curiosity, why not just use the Bulli? Since it's fully repairable I can't really see any need to use the old atties, except maybe to use 'em up 'til they die. :)

Is there a better tank system for the ego? or other tank type units available? im getting an ego xl b and i dont know ego's at all.

No nothing better yet by joytech but you can try looking for a tank system like the A2T there must be something out there that is not just a ce2 tank replacement .

I am a new GGTS owner. When I ordered it the i atty was not available so I ordered the A2 T, and since I had old Ego attys laying around I thought I'd give them new life with a new wick. I do see a use for the Ego T when I am going out to dinner for example the GG I think would be to big to carry in my purse so the Ego T would be the stand in for this.

Awesome job on the 4 months! Where did you order the wicks from?
