The ID may increase or decrease air flow... making the DT an interchangeable type, AFC tunable element, within the limits of existing maximum air flow.
Synthetic/metal and glass/metal, as well as extra long DTs tend to transfer less heat vs. all metal... to varying degrees of success - important if you're using a sub-ohm rda.
The rest is pretty much personal preference.

Only the extremely tight draw on a tip like the one that comes w the Beyond Vape Silo (it comes w 2 drip tips) will really make a difference. Also the chuff enuff style cap/drip top combos that recently came out will definitely make a difference. But most of the normal size drip tips do not make a difference. What it really comes down to is that all (most) drip tips are made to fit into the same place, the top of your RDA / tank which are all the same size within a centimeter or 2. The vapor has to travel thru that bottle neck no matter how you look at it.

What effect the drip tip has may depend on what device it is attached to.

I have drippers that get much to hot for a short metal tip, so I need a longer metal tip or a plastic tip.

On my Kayfun, I find narrow hole on the stock tip shoots a very concentrated stream, but a wide bore is more pleasant for me, so I use a stove pipe style.

On a small carto tank that I use for stealth, I prefer a shorty tip with a wide bore.

On my protank styles, I find the stock tips perfectly fine.

Can anyone recommend a nice narrow-bore drip tip? The draw I get off of my Kayfun is just perfect for me, but every tip I've ever tried is much wider and airier. I'm planning to put it on an Orchid to firm up the draw a bit. Ideally something on fasttech. I've searched, but there seem to be thousands and none of them seem to advertise a narrow bore.

Have a look at the DT that comes on with the Kayfun Mini, it has a very small opening, maybe 1/16 (or less?) of and inch. It does a good job of concentrating flavors, at the expense of volume. I have one that I mostly use on drippers when I`m flavor chasing.

Check out http://vapedepartment.com/drip-tips.html
